This update is a few months late but as of at least February 2017 construction has begun on the outdoor theme park at Wanda Guangzhou Cultural Tourism City. Here's the layout and most recent (February 2017) satellite imagery for it which shows that at the time the only progress on the theme park itself appears to be the entrance area:

Construction progress on Wanda Wuxi Cultural Tourism City from February 2017:





Wanda Wuxi Cultural Tourism City will include "the world's only large indoor children's theme park, indoor water park, large theme park" and completion has been pushed back to 2019
