New renderings have been released for phase 2 of Sunac Land in Chongqing. It seems the addition of new rides has been replaced with stores and restaurants.

Kind of a sad sight to see - recent photos from a blogpost showing low crowds at the newly opened Chongqing Sunac Cultural Tourism City during the Chinese New Year celebrations, which are usually when the biggest crowds are seen at theme parks.

Legendary Twin Dragon, a new Intamin Impulse coaster at Sunac Land in Chongqing, is now officially open. This means that Sunac Land's first phase is now complete so hopefully construction will start soon on phase two. The park's observation wheel is conveniently located on top of a mountain overlooking the phase two area so we should be getting great updates as that develops. Today, September 26, is the grand opening of Sunac Land and Chongqing Sunac Cultural Tourism City as a whole! Considering that this park is nestled between real mountains, this is certainly the most naturally scenic Sunac or Wanda park to open so far. Some of the rides such as the train and observation wheel take advantage of the terrain and manmade rockwork in the middle of the park compliments the surrounding landscape. This is just phase one of Sunac Land in Chongqing. The park is planned to nearly double in size with a new area on the other side of one of the mountains.
