Just heard from a friend working at USS, the prep work has just started and projection is to open in 2027. But more realistic is 2029. haha.
The area is quite huge, not just Malaysian Food Street, but stretches to where the trickeye museum was.

The only ride is probably going to be the Mario Kart ride considering that takes up all the space of the food street and ticket counter and vip reception. That and the Mini games. I don't see how they could add any other rides with the space they have as the main walking space is similar (if not slightly smaller) to hollywoods version of the park. (Hopefully higher quality similar to japan and florida)
The malaysian food street is now closed but the uss ticket counter and vip reception arent closed yet. The entire building need to be demolished to make way for Super Nintendo World. I guess the fake rock building with the sentosa rws sign wrap around the sentosa express rail also need to be demolished. I think it will be completely different from usa and japan version. The rides should be something exclusive to USS. The land isnt big enough to build something similar to the previous versions. Demolishing and building may take about 3 to 4 years.
Ok, I understand! That would also explain why I found a photo of a hotel which seemed to be close to the previous location of Madagascar land, I was confused with how that would work with SNW but I’m assuming that SNW will be behind this huge hotel. I haven’t been to Singapore since 2015 which is when Madagascar land was there, and I loved how that area looked. But I’ve been waiting years to go to SNW and Singapore will be the closest and best place to go once it opens. I hope the demolition process of all the other buildings goes smoothly so construction of SNW can start as soon as possible. Thank you both for the insight on this
It is not a new construction but a revamping of existing infrastructure that involves demolishing, construction and inspection/certification. All these processes take time. Not forgetting that they are working on a relatively small plot of land and they are also building a hotel complex beside the would-be SNW attraction.
Construction on Nintendo hasn't technically started yet. Yes they have cleared out the space for the main walking portion (The madagascar ride) buy they still also need to demolish the entire food street and the buildings next to it to make way for where the Mario Kart ride is going to go. And there is also a lot of rockwork that needs to be removed to get to the Mario Kart ride which will be connected from under the tracof the sentosa railway. Overall it all depends on the speed at which the waterfront redevelopment goes. Heres hoping they make an announcement soon similar to how they did with Minion land a few years ago now that the redevelopment has really began
This might sound stupid because I don't know anything about theme park construction (I'm just dying to go to Nintendo world, and Singapore is quite close to Perth, Australia where I live)
If it took them 2 years to build all of USS, then why would it take 3 years at the earliest to build just a small section of the park? Sorry if I sound dumb but I don't see what could get in the way of it (COVID isn't really an issue anymore, Minion Land is basically complete, they just closed Food Street)
Is it really true they are only opening Nintendo world in 2029?? The internet keeps saying 2025….
The golf course beside will end in 2030 and no more renewal. Thus GENTING GROUP should really look into this and If the Govt (#MrLawrenceWong )see this post. Maybe can make Singapore Universal Studio great again. Even Disneyland Hongkong improved eventually. If only Harry Potter is coming here to Singapore USS.
