The patent filed which fits the bill for Nintendo ride

The patent, dubbed "Multi-passenger Ride Vehicle," is for a vehicle comprising of two or more passengers with user input devices at each passenger seat that can determine steering, acceleration and braking pedals, buttons or a joystick. Images included in the patent show riders split into four chairs in one car with two passenger back-to-back and the rear passengers in what appears to be a way to have riders both in sight of what's ahead in a race and what's coming from behind.

According to Inside Universal, this plan is real but an older version. Pokémon, Kirby, and others would not be part of the plan anymore, with a stronger focus on the broader Mario universe

If this layout is legitimate it would match up with the previously reported location of Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Orlando
