  1. Both, Gibson Amphitheatre AND Curious George will make way for it:

Universal Studios in Hollywood will raze the 41-year-old Gibson Amphitheatre to make way for its coming Harry Potter attraction, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Like the Wizarding World in Orlando, the Hollywood Harry Potter will be a theme park based on J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" books and the films made from them.

Also slated to fall under the advancing march of the boy wizard is Universal's Adventures of Curious George. The playland's current features include a 500-gallon water dump and flying foam balls.

NBCUniversal has been given the greenlight to move forward with plans to build a Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Company will spend nearly $500 million to build the park, as well as upgrade its studio backlot with new office space, TV production facilities and other infrastructure.
The Harry Potter theme park will begin construction later this summer.
The park is expected to replace the space occupied by the 6,000-seat Gibson Amphitheater and surrounding areas like the park’s shuttered Terminator 2 3D attraction.
(...) will essentially replicate the Wizarding World of Harry Potter that opened in 2010 at Universal’s Orlando resort (...)

Harry Potter fans probably thought they’d seen the last of the boy wizard on the big screen but a ninth film is reportedly being secretly shot.
However, you’ll have to visit a theme park in America or Japan to view it.

Witching hour: Actress Helena Bonham Carter (far right) will reprise her role as Bellatrix Lestrange in the new 'mini movie'
The ‘mini movie’ is understood to be have been commissioned for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios in Orlando.
It will also be shown at two new Harry Potter theme parks currently under construction in Japan and California.
Actress Helena Bonham Carter – who played Bellatrix Lestrange - is one of the stars said to be reprising her role.
The actors have been filming at Warner Brothers’ studios in Hertfordshire but details of the plot are being kept under wraps.

The company said Monday that after months of gathering feedback from residents and local officials to its 20-year-plan to update the 391-acre property in Universal City, NBCU will not move forward with a proposed housing project that would have involved the construction of nearly 3,000 homes around the studio backlot.

Instead, the company has revised its Final Environmental Impact Report to grow its studio facilities from 1.24 million square feet to 1.45 million square feet. It also has requested more entitlements from the city to build new rides, attractions and parking facilities at its Universal Studios Hollywood theme park, as well as addtitional retail outlets at Universal CityWalk, and two new 500-room hotels, rather than just one, as was first envisioned.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter park already was factored into existing plans. But the requeste 327,000 square feet at the park -- up from 134,000 square feet -- gives NBU greater flexibility in revamping Universal Studios Hollywood's existing offerings without changing the footprint of the park.

Meyer also spoke briefly about Universal's previously announced plans to add a Wizarding World of Harry Potter — already a huge hit at Universal's Orlando resort — to his company's theme park in Los Angeles. For the first time, he estimated when it might launch, saying "I hope it won't be much more than three years.
