This particular project won't happen any more, but that's not to say Universal will never have a presence in Dubai.

Is Universal Studios now open or is it still under construction?

I'd find it quite strange if it was a new park, considering motiongate is the film park of Dubai Parks and Resorts

The plan to build a Universal Studios Dubailand development has been officially been scrapped, it was reported on Thursday.

Anything on this?

With so many theme parks underway in Dubai right now, why isn't this one being revived? I believe Tatweer or Dubai Properties have continued paying the agreed licensing fees after construction came to a halt in 2009. But what happened then? A fully designed Universal park tailor-made for Dubai's culture and climate --- not worthy moving forward?
