Here's an interesting unused canopy concept for CityWalk

A 30,000sm canopy structure with glazing on top surface and perforated metal with integrated decorative light fixture below.
While the lower deck offers a Universal anchor store, restaurants, and retail, the upper deck will be geared toward adults seeking leisure entertainment in the form of the premiere IMAX, state-of-the-art cinema, nightclubs and lounges, a wine tasting terrace, and casual dining amenities. Programmed events will be rooted in the Universal movie-making experience, inspiring new generations of creativity.

I wouldn’t be surprised if CityWalk opens to guests way before even the soft opening of Universal Studios. I think that is what Disney did with Disneytown in Shanghai as well.

Another major construction update today - thanks to Douyin there's more to share than can fit in a single post so check back later today or tomorrow for another update that includes Jurassic World Isla Nublar, WaterWorld, Hollywood, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

According to an article from today, the main structure of Universal Studios Beijing has been completed, and the stage of installation and commissioning of rides has been fully entered. The number of management personnel and construction workers onsite currently exceeds 20,000.

These videos were originally posted on Douyin (the Chinese version of TikTok) and then the screenshots were posted to Weibo (another Chinese social media platform). Instead of relying on screenshots posted to Weibo, I’ve gone straight to the source by downloading Douyin so now you can get even better updates of the park with the original sources referenced - this is just the tip of the iceberg there are plenty more amazing videos on Douyin and new ones are posted almost daily. I highly encourage you to watch the videos themselves which are all linked at the bottom of this post. Note that many of these images are unfortunately not the clearest because they are coming from videos designed for a phone screen.

In the middle of Minion Land is an indoor pier-like area themed to Super Silly Fun Land which has what appears to be a clone of Universal Studios Hollywood's Silly Swirly Fun Ride.
