  1. Shanghai Disneyland is one of the most superior Disney parks ever built. In terms of size its actually the 2nd biggest Disney park with some of the most advanced Disney rides and up to date versions of rides like Peter Pans Flight. Shanghai may not be perfect but it is by far one of Disney's best parks.

I would say Universal Beijing is quite outstanding. Certainly stunning. While Panda coulda done better on the ceilings technology for that just hasn't caught up quite yet but they have done a great job with all the lands and rides. Sadly yeah there are lot of exposed show buildings but it seems no theme park companies are trying to hide as much as they used to anymore. But I think this park is quite a good one.

  2. This park has proven to be a real big disappointment as far as I am concerned. Between the Kung Fu Panda areas exposed ceiling, Fun Land in the Minions area feeling like a warehouse and the Harry Potter ride featuring an exposed show building the question must be asked as to how the hell this laziness ended up being the most expensive theme park ever built because unless there was some kind of fraud, tax evasion or negligence I just cant understand it. I mean its even more expensive than the far superior $5 Billion Shanghai Disneyland.

  5. I think they made queuing spaces out of the elements so that people are protected from the cold and the heat as well as from the pollution that will occur.

They’ll also need queuing spaces as there will be that many people in the park with hardly any attractions, so there will be very long queues.

These buildings make great selfie spots whilst queuing. When I compare the attractions at Shanghai Disneyland compared to this park - then I envisage enormous queues. There simply isn’t enough to do here. The park will be rammed with people making it less attractive.

  6. I feel like it would have been better if they used this building and turned it into a real Innovation Center rather than just some queue space. It's basically wasted potential.

JERDE, an architectural firm that designed CityWalk in Hollywood and Orlando, has just shared early designs they did for CityWalk in Beijing ahead of the upcoming opening:

JERDE was appointed to recreate the magic of the original CityWalk in Los Angeles, for Universal Studios Beijing. Unlike the more linear concept used in the original in Orlando, also designed by JERDE in 1994, the Beijing concept calls for a hub and spoke design, with a central plaza where people gather.

At the core of CityWalk in Beijing, spanning across 53,350 square meters, a grand plaza serves as a central meeting place and junction of bustling pedestrian pathways. This urban hub is adjacent to the Entertainment Terrace as well as surrounded by restaurants and retail, all enlivened by street performers and dynamic graphic visuals including a giant LED screen that offers an immersive digital experience. Visitors can access CityWalk through the theme park, metro station, and water taxi hub.

Keep in mind that the waterpark design shown in some of the images above is mainly just placeholder and not necessarily the actual design of the future waterpark.
