The public is exploring from the edge of the property as much as they can ahead of the opening:

  8. The great thing about theme parks is that so far we are seeing many new ones being developed and current ones expanded. I’m not loving Universal Beijing as it looks, so my excitement will be focused on Epic Universe in Florida, hoping they give Tokyo DisneySea a run for their money in theming, detail and aesthetic.

  10. The park isn't really meeting my expectations at the moment either, but not sure if that's just because most of the photos that come from China are terrible quality.

The Jurassic World area appears very disappointing. What a shame that the Mack Inverted coaster doesn't fulfil the full potential that such an amazing ride system has. I thought it would be a proper immersive dark ride with coaster sections (like Arthur) but it seems closer to Pteranodon Flyers at Islands of Adventure? And also a shame that the main dark ride just reuses the same ride system as Transformers elsewhere in the park.

I am not a fan of the Jurassic World aesthetic in general; too bland and utilitarian. I far prefer the Jurassic Park style which imparts a real feeling of adventure with thatched roofs, rich foliage and a lot of character. Hopefully it will grow in a bit, but there doesn't seem much to grow in.

But anyway, hopefully it's better than how it all appears on Weibo. When the park was first announced I was chomping at the bit to get there, but now it seems most rides are clones, rethemes, variations on a theme or not really unique enough to make the journey.
