The river running through the resort resumed construction in late March and will allow guests to travel from the resort hotels into the theme park and around the resort.
Construction of a river through Universal Beijing Resort, a major theme park scheduled to open in May next year, will be completed in November, according to the municipal government on Thursday.
The 2.8-kilometer-long waterway will wind like a ribbon through the resort area in the cultural and tourist zone in Beijing's subcenter, starting from Jiukeshu Middle Road to the west side of East 6th Ring Road.Source: https://global.chinadaily.com.cn/a/202005/08/WS5eb51459a310a8b24115449c.htmlAt present, the river structure has been completed, and other work is underway, including river bank greening, river bottom seepage reduction and the construction of a water treatment station. The project, when completed, will feature landscapes of 40 to 100 meters wide and a water area of about 120,000 square meters for the resort.

An excellent new set of on the ground photos
In this video, Tom Mehrmann, President and General Manager of Universal Beijing Resort, talks about the effect of the virus on the park's construction/completion: https://streamable.com/uiv77l - as a quick summary he says that the impact is "negligible" because of the timing coinciding with Chinese New Year. Construction is at "full strength" right now and although they may have lost about 60 days of work they believe it can be made up. The target for construction to be complete is "still the end of 2020."
Saying "still" implies that end of 2020 was always the goal but for a long time the target was actually October so now that the target is just the end of the year, the 60 days of lost work and the more flexible target make it all a wash. Is a soft opening during the 2021 Spring Festival (February 12) a possibility perhaps?
