Great new photos of Universal Studios Beijing especially this first photo of the work taking place on the Jurassic World-themed roller coaster. The big circular part is the base of the glass dome structure and the area to the left is where the coaster's signature mountain will rise.

According to the article that these photos are from Universal Beijing Resort's general manager was quoted as saying the following (paraphrased translation):

The development of Universal Beijing Resort has always been highly anticipated by the peers and consumers in China's tourism industry. As all projects progress smoothly according to the established schedule, we look forward to in the near future sharing more exciting milestones about Universal Beijing Resort. We have reason to believe that Universal Beijing Resort is bound to become a world-class theme park entertainment destination with leading standards in China and around the world.

Yesterday morning, January 4, Universal Beijing celebrated the successful hoisting of the first steel structural column for the indoor Kung Fu Panda area!

Also yesterday was the opening day for the Beijing Tongzhou District Sixth People's Congress Fifth Meeting during which it was revealed that the first phase of Universal Beijing Theme Park and Resort is set to open in 2021.

Yesterday morning Su Guobin, deputy head of Tongzhou District in Beijing, which is the area where Universal Studios is located, visited the the theme park's construction site to see if everything is going according to schedule because there was some concern about whether or not it would open as planned in 2020. Wang He, the deputy director of Beijing Shouhuan Cultural Tourism Investment Company, which owns Universal Beijing Resort along with Comcast, toured the site with Su and said that he is "very confident that the first phase of the Universal Beijing Theme Park and Resort will open as scheduled."

The first photo I believe to be the foundation for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey's ride building but I am not sure and on the second two photos be sure to take a look at the images on the documents in their hands.

New photos taken at the construction site

Last but not least the transit station is coming along nicely

Also, the China Construction Second Engineering Bureau just confirmed that Universal Studios had recently gone vertical which themeparX had already shared over a week ago: http://www.cscec2baz.com.cn/?content/news/288/index.htm

A fantastic brand new construction update with both on the ground and aerial photos:

Universal Studios Beijing has gone vertical!

I can't pinpoint the location of where within the park these photos were taken - luckily new aerial photos have been posted online so is anyone able to match the location?

Reminder of the resort's layout (updated version) for reference

    UPDATE:

Additional photos have been posted online of the park going vertical:

New photos from this morning taken from the north side of the construction site facing south so the areas of the park that are the closest are the Transformers area and Kung Fu Panda area. Cranes right now located at the center of Jurassic World, over by the Minions-themed area and then more cranes in the vicinity of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hogsmeade. Pile drivers can be seen near the entrance/hotel area and more pile drivers can be seen in the support facilities/back of house area.

The design and planning stages for Universal Beijing Resort's first phase (2 hotels, parking garage, CityWalk, and Universal Studios theme park) has been completed and comprehensive construction is now in full swing!

A new post online from China Metallurgical Group Corporation, the company building Universal Beijing, includes photos that show concept art and the layout for the Transformers-themed area of the theme park. I believe these photos were taken at the park's onsite offices.

Unfortunately the resolution on all of these images are very low but we see most notably the roller coaster and dark ride, plus plenty of future expansion space. Note that any of the following layout and concept art is potentially out of date.

New satellite imagery from two weeks ago shows us what's being worked on at the park. The outlines of the buildings for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Kung Fu Panda, and the Jurassic World dark ride can all be pinpointed in this imagery:

In this overview of the entire resort work can be seen on the transit station, the first parking garage, major roads, and the central river:

Concept to reality in the making:
