Oriental Land Co., Ltd. announced that there will be changes regarding the opening date and investment amount for Fantasy Springs, the eighth themed port currently under development as part of the Tokyo DisneySea Park large-scale expansion project.
The scheduled opening date for Fantasy Springs will be changed to spring, 2024 (the first quarter of fiscal year 2024). This is due to the extension of the project’s construction period, which was impacted by delay in productions overseas, as well as restrictions placed on logistics and border measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
In addition, the investment amount is projected to be about 320 billion yen. This is due to a rising cost associated with materials and personnel, requirements for further elaboration in planning, design, and procedures, the declining value of Japanese yen, etc., in addition to the extension of the construction period mentioned.
Note: In press releases dated January 30, 2020 and June 14, 2018, it was announced that the opening date and planned investment amount for the Tokyo DisneySea large-scale expansion project was fiscal year 2023 (tentative) and approximately 250 billion yen, respectively.

Do you think Fantasy Springs will be open in May 2023? I am planning to go to Tokyo at the end of May and I don't think the land will be open yet.
Neverland adventure
Although the rebuilt Space Mountain is not scheduled to debut for another five years, Tokyo Disney Resort appears to have already started the groundwork for the project! Explorer Chris managed to capture these photos in which we can that construction is already well underway in the former parking lot behind Space Mountain. Interestingly, scaffolding has also been installed on the existing attraction’s tallest spire.
