We are delighted with progress on partnership agreements. We plan to build over 3,500 hotel rooms, operated by our new partner, Intercontinental Hotel Group; constructing the majority of the Resort and new roads and infrastructure with materials stored at and transported from Port of Tilbury, with whom we have recently signed an agreement. We are now in very detailed commercial negotiations regarding partners, the concepts they are embracing and some of the incredible creative propositions.

London Resort Company Holdings (LRCH), the developer behind the plans to build a multi-billion pound entertainment resort, announces that its final round of public consultation on plans for the London Resort will be taking place in early 2018 and that it will be submitting the Development Consent Order application in Spring. This latest round of events represents the fifth stage of an extensive programme of community engagement carried out by LRCH, which has already seen over 8,000 people participate. The anticipated grand opening date is in 2023.

In December 2012, I analysed the proposal.

I was very skeptical about market feasibility. I found it not feasible, based on the market only.

Since march 2013, I could analyse the proposal again, with business references. On my second analysis I concluded feasibility was dead.

Shared my analysis with several other IAAPA consultant members.

There were 2 camps :
- those who thought they could still earn some share of the development money,
- and those who got a clear view of no-go.

Opportunist money grabbing has always existed. They do not care at all if a project begins bankrupt. I still doubt that all concept designers have been paid...

Anyway, feasibility on this project is negative. Since the start. And that's it...

This is the most up to date Google Earth (April 2017) and, as you can see, there is nothing going on. We won't see anything until they get the planning application in around November I think.

Resort planning application remains on track for November 2017 as Paramount and LRCH discontinue licence agreement

The website shows the plan for the park:

1. A world-class theme park with themed rides, attractions and experiences, as well as daytime and night-time shows and parades
2. A range of hotels including flexible space capable of hosting conferences, exhibitions and events
3. A range of indoor entertainment including cinema and nightclubs
4. Themed food and beverage outlets and retail
5. Control centre and guest service facilities
6. Transport improvements including a dedicated dual carriageway access road between the A2 and the Entertainment Resort
7. A green network to include areas of environmental enhancement and wildlife habitat creation beside the River Thames
8. A range of connectivity improvements including public footpaths and cycle routes along the River Thames and enhancements to the existing jetty on the river to facilitate access by boat
9. Thousands of onsite car park spaces plus provision for coaches, motorcycles and bicycles
10. Enhancements to flood defence works
11. Landscaping including water features such as ponds

The project is alive, but the Paramount licensing deal is dead.

Developers building a giant theme park in Kent have made a shock split with Paramount Pictures, the film studio which was to lend its name to the resort’s rides and attractions.

London Resort Company Holdings, which first revealed plans for the £3.2 billion project in 2012, said cutting ties with the Hollywood giants would not affect its goal to submit a planning application in November.

Confirming the Paramount split, LRCH chief executive Humphrey Percy said: “We want to express our sincere thanks to the many members of the Paramount team who have worked with us since we took over the project in August 2013.

Paramount Developers LRCH have signed a deal with IHG hotel group to build the hotels for this park.

The agreement, known as a "heads of terms", will allow the group to operate up to 4,000 guest rooms across the site on the Swanscombe Peninsula between Gravesend and Dartford.

The plans will go on display at a public exhibition due to be held in the autumn, with the sites due to be ready in time for the resort’s opening date in 2022.
