As The London Resort works towards submitting its final masterplan, public consultations will "be held across August and September"

  2. It's obviously terrible that Py contracted COVID-19 and great that he has recovered but the fact that they are saying things are falling behind because he was sick for a number of weeks is ridiculous. How is seemingly one single man responsible for this massive project?

"It knocked him out for a couple of weeks," he said. "But he was propped up in bed with an iPad getting the show on the road."

Now he says theme park bosses are more determined than ever to deliver the project, adding "our ambition for the creating a world class resort remains unchanged."
But London Resort communications director, Andy Martin maintains the project is still on course and said delays were not uncommon for a complex project of this size.

He said theme park bosses were holding Zoom calls with all concerned parties and fine-tuning their master plans.Changes to the application timetable were agreed in advance, he added, with complex considerations such as the planned works for the A2 near Ebbsfleet, and the ongoing Lower Thames Crossing proposal factored in.
The full application is now expected to be submitted in Autumn, to be followed by a further public consultation. There will then be 28 days to review the application and decide whether or not to accept it for examination.

  3. They could at least start digging the foundations, to give us some hope that this will happen someday. I'm sure they will put the blame on the Brexit scenario, even though its right next to a quarry with the biggest supply of concrete in the UK.

  4. Yes, Carly, that's exactly what I've believed since it was first announced. I've never believed that it was ever going to happen.

I can't embed the video from this report but it's worth a watch on the link below. The suggestion of the reporter is that they are building up the plans in order to increase the resale value of the land they purchased and have no intention of delivering the park.

There is still no work on the site and they are still pushing the "open by 2024" messaging. It's not feasible in my opinion for this project to be delivered.

London Resort Holdings has issued artists impressions, bought up land and formed partnerships with Paramount, ITV and the BBC. But a planning application has not been submitted and no work has been carried out on the 800-acre site.

One of the most sustainable, world-class destinations also reveals 'six lands'

The London Resort has revealed new, concept artwork, for the six lands that will be created as the first phase of the 535-acre site, the equivalent of 136 Wembley Stadiums. The visuals are the first to be revealed since The London Resort announced its partnerships with the BBC, ITV Studios and, most recently, Paramount Pictures.

It follows hot on the heels of a partnership announcement with EDF Energy that aims to make The London Resort the most sustainable, major theme park destination in the world. In what is believed to be a first for the global tourism industry, the deal will see The London Resort pursue a Net Zero emissions goal.

Four visuals have been released, hinting at the "next generation" rides and unique experiences people can expect when the park opens in 2024.

"We are creating a first-class theme park. A destination that maximises all the new, immersive and interactive technologies and experiences in the world," said PY Gerbeau, Chief Executive of London Resort Company Holdings (LRCH). "But we won't just be creating a world class leisure destination, it will also be one of the most sustainable theme parks on the planet."

"We have three guidelines we work to when it comes to developing attractions," continues Gerbeau. "Number one is innovation. We're not here to copy what's been done before even if it has been successful. Number two is relevance. We need to consider that the customers of today will not be the customers of 2024. And the third is flexibility. We need to create a park that can evolve and adapt easily."

Billed as one of the most ambitious theme park projects ever in Europe, the London Resort will be the first European development of its kind to be built from scratch since the opening of Disneyland Paris in 1992. It will eventually be a two-park resort the first 'gate' will open in 2024 and the second within five years (2029) and it is expected that around 70% of attractions will be undercover.

The six lands of The London Resort

The entrance to The London Resort will be via a grand plaza that leads visitors and hotel guests through 'The High Street'. Full of shops, restaurants, hotels, a Convention Centre and a first-class waterpark.

Visitors can start their journey in The Studios, a gritty, modern-day warehouse district that practically roars with the exhilarating thrills of big, blockbuster features. A winning combination of explosive action, high-octane car chases and high-stakes espionage.

Just to the north lies The Woods, an enchanted realm where springtime reigns eternal and the boundary between reality and fantasy dissolves. Here, the young and young-at-heart will be invited to step through the pages of a storybook and embark on adventures that put a fresh spin on beloved bedtime stories, fables and fairy tales.

From the Woods, the journey continues through the ages into The Kingdom, an immersive realm of swords, sorcery, dragons & legend. This is England as a dark and ancient land, a place of threatening and imposing castles and mystical Arthurian legends.

To the north lay The Isles, a land of giant creatures, mythical beasts and adventures at the crossroads of imagination and reality. Fantastic jaw dropping architecture will combine with magnificent rides and 21st century technology.

The past begins to blend with the future in The Jungle. Ancient ruins of a mysterious long-lost Mesoamerican civilisation are seen pushing up through treetops. Here, an overgrown environment, brimming with ancient secrets, surprising discoveries and strange mystical artifacts will be transported to the present by inquisitive explorers - young and old.

The final land, dedicated to futuristic experiences, alien encounters and big thrill rides, The Starport is a bustling 23rd century landing zone. It will launch visitors into thrilling science-fiction adventures that are out of this world, leaving them mesmerised at things that should be impossible but are not.

Radisson Hotel Group have joined the brands involved in the resort. Still don't think it will ever happen.

Radisson Hotel Group, one of the world’s leading hotel groups, has today (August 14) announced a partnership with The London Resort, a theme park due to open near Dartford in 2024.
PY Gerbeau, Chief Executive of London Resort Company Holdings (LRCH), added: “Radisson Hotel Group’s commitment to the resort represents a significant milestone and is testimony to the absolute conviction the team has to deliver this project.

“We are thrilled they have bought into our vision to create a totally unique entertainment destination and can’t wait to work with their team.

“Radisson Hotel Group will be bringing films and characters to life in what will be an unforgettable hotel experience and will complement the incredible experiences and attractions Paramount Studios will also be bringing to the resort.”

  9. Thought the Paramount deal in UK is dead? Well, Paramount officially renewed their partnership with London Resort.
