Yes, there are animatronics on the ride. you can encounter many characters from Super Mario! The ride is a huge mix between projections and physical elements. The AR goggles only add more elements such as other racers (Luigi, Mario etc) I’ve been on the ride twice and the animatronics seem fine. Some may freeze but that's because you threw a shell at it!

The park itself is very cool. It’s very immersive and the theming is done really well. The power-up bands are about $33 each!

There is already a video on the ride. Animatronics are on the ride. This is a construction website, not a discussion one. Not trying to be rude, but one of the mods stated that a couple of days ago.
