  1. Legacy Entertainment's theme park design for Six Flags Dubailand featured themed zones related to emotions, including Celebrate, Wonder, Play, Discover, Explore, and IMAGINE.

IMAGINE would have immersed visitors in an optimistic futurescape notable for its "living" architecture. Attractions would have included a Family Suspended Coaster, a Hanging Dark Ride, as well as Z-FORCE- a "Mad House" Rotating Room attraction.

The sad nothingness that Six Flags Dubai is today. Google satellite imagery from Q1/2020:

  3. Legacy Entertainment's theme park design for Six Flags Dubailand featured lands relating to emotions; Celebrate, Imagine, Play, Discover, Explore, and WONDER.

WONDER would have immersed visitors in a mystical Asian garden village. Six Flags brands integrated into this zone would have been NINJA (Spinning Coaster), TATSU (Mack Water Coaster), and on the more obscure side, The MAGIC PAGODA (Tilt House Walk-Through).

  4. It’s worth pointing out that Six Flag's Dubailand was the originally planned SF park, not the park that started construction at Dubai Parks & Resorts.

The design of the newer SF was quite different. FORREC was the master planner.

  5. This theme park design concept art from Legacy Entertainment depicts Six Flags Dubai's CELEBRATE zone.

The design concept was that of an abandoned industrial waterfront overtaken and transformed by a collective of artists. Several classic Six Flags brands would have been re-imagined here, including Revolution, Tidal Wave, and Pandemonium.

  6. Rare Theme Park Design Concept Art of an earlier version of Six Flags Dubai, circa 2008 and 2009, with a design by Legacy Entertainment. This artwork is of the park's Arrival Experience.

  8. A Dubai firm will pay $7.5 million to Six Flags after abandoning plans to build a version of the U.S. amusement park in the United Arab Emirates amid a slowdown in the economy.

DXB Entertainments, which runs Dubai Parks & Resorts, said Tuesday it agreed with Texas-based Six Flags Entertainment Corp. to pay the amount as “a right of first refusal.”

In February, DXB Entertainments announced it was cancelling plans to build the $454 million Six Flags, citing financing constraints. The company, which owns other theme parks in Dubai, posted a first quarter net loss of $59 million and visits were down 11% over the same period.

U.S.-based Six Flags to contest Dubai park cancellation

"We will pursue all our rights and remedies under our agreements", U.S. operator says in filing

U.S.-based theme parks operator Six Flags Entertainment Corporation has said that it will "pursue all our rights and remedies" under its agreement with Dubai-based DXB Entertainments after being formally notified that contracts for a Six Flags Dubai park had been terminated.

In a statement accompanying its quarterly results on Wednesday, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation said that "our partner in Dubai sent us notice purporting to terminate our various contracts with them" on Wednesday.

"We believe that they have no basis to do so and we will pursue all our rights and remedies under our agreements."
