He's alive! The Q'aráq is now working and we have a full ride POV.

Not sure if this is being totally blown out of proportion to be honest. The people I know, who are currently visiting, haven't said it's terrible and all parks need to adjust to having regular guests in the park rather than soft opening.

Chinese media call out uncivilized behavior at newly opened Shanghai Disneyland

Pictures taken over the first weekend following the grand opening show the ground completely covered with food wrapping, plastic bags, and paper cups.

Also in this photo, behind the cleaning crew, is spotless as I would expect of any Disney park so think that's just someone taking a photo to try and prove a point...

Because it's not the largest Disney park and it is opening weekend. Give it time to see how it can handle crowds AND further construction.

The capacity quote seems wrong to me, a park of that size should be closer to double that figure per day? I haven't seen any other figures for daily attendance though so unsure...

30,000 was a very cautious number. 40,000 was reached once they got a good feel for actual operations vs. theoretical during the CM preview days. The park does have a lot of space, but we have to consider many things when it comes to how many people to let in. This comes down to the facilities available on opening day. How many people can we squeeze into a queue and get them through the attractions, how many seats are available at food & bev facilities vs. average time spent in the facility, etc. It's actually a very interesting metric to track. Just because the park is huge and can hold 60-80,000 very easily, you'd have a lot of very unhappy in the park if you actually loaded it out to that capacity. It's about making sure the guests have an enjoyable day rather than a straight cash grab at the gate.

The closing of the first day of operations finished with fireworks.
