I would try the Cube Hotel in Chuansha which is to the north of the park. Lots of taxis available there and its located within a small city with some interesting sights. Rooms are pretty good comparable to international though service can have its moments
In case hotel pricing gets too high for my opinion I already booked a hotel nearby within walking distance on metro line 11 stations. It was very hard to find since there is not much choice of hotels nearby yet..
But still prefer staying onsite of course.
I tried to have another chat with the agents about the ticket maximum today.
Over some time of similarly non-sensical comments, we finally got somewhere.
So it seems that the 5 ticket maximum is just per-day, and is not per-attendee or per-buying-session.
Buy tickets first. Because all kinds of tickets are date specific, which will guarantee you prior theme park admission on the date specified on your ticket.
I wonder at what time everything will go on sale. I also wonder if you book a room if you're guaranteed theme park admission.
China Daily are reporting that the opening date of 06-16-16 was picked because "the three 6s are believed to be auspicious, heralding success". I guess that is only in Eastern countries; here the number "666" means something quite different!!

PS: News websites today are DISAGREEING about whether the tickets at Shanghai Disneyland are cheaper or more expensive than the ones at Hong Kong Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland!!
China Daily (link above) (SDL < HKDL+TDL "Shanghai Disney Resort has revealed its ticket prices for Disneyland claiming the lowest of all 12 Disney parks and six resorts in the world.")
South China Morning Post:
http://www.scmp.com/news/china/money-wealth/article/1908881/peak-daily-ticket-price-new-shanghai-disneyland-cost-more
(SDL > HKDL+TDL "Peak daily ticket price at new Shanghai Disneyland to cost more than Disney’s Hong Kong and Tokyo theme parks")
Bloomberg:
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-02-03/disney-prices-shanghai-park-tickets-cheaper-than-hong-kong-s
(SDL < HKDL "Tickets for Walt Disney Co.’s $5.5 billion Shanghai park will be priced at about 20 percent cheaper than for Hong Kong")
This is the only useful piece of information I got from today. I also asked about when the hotel prices will be available, what "maximum of 5 tickets" means, how many days the opening ceremony will go on for, etc. But didn't get anything more than "please keep checking the website".
Regarding the H-shaped building, she confirmed that it is not a Disney hotel and that it is part of the SIRTZ, but both of those things were obvious anyway.
