Shanghai Disney Resort posted an update to their official WeChat account a couple of hours ago, saying that tickets will go on sale on 28th March at 00:01. I think it's safe to say that is 00:01 CST, so that will be 27th March for those of us based in the Western countries.

My Chinese is not great but using Google Translate, I couldn't find anything about hotels in the post - it's only about the parks.

  4. I tried a different approach this morning. Instead of "live chat', I called the reservations center directly and spoke to a "live" agent. She was very nice, but very scripted. Most everything was "pricing coming soon" and you can book hotels and part tickets on the 28th either online or by phone or through a third party (we all already knew that). She did confirm that the reservation phone line would open at 8am local china time (800pm? Sunday night east coast US time). She could not (or would not) confirm at what time on the 28th that the website would allow park tickets or hotel to be booked. So it looks like I will keep checking from midnight china time (noon on Sunday for me) at regular intervals. It is clear they probably want to keep website start time secret so as not to have everyone hit the site at the same time. I did ask if my getting a hotel booking "guarantees" me park tickets, but I really couldn't get a direct answer on that. One thing that was interesting was she took all my personal information (name, address, phone number, arrival date, number of rooms, number of guests, ages of the children, etc.). She even asked me which hotel I waned and room type. She told me she put this in the system so when I call to "book", they will already have my information in their system. A little step forward. But she still couldn't tell me when hotel "pricing coming soon" will change to what the prices will be. We are only a couple of days away. I will provide any new information if and when I get it.

I totally agree with you - they should give people the chance to inform about hotel rates and get familiar with all options prior to booking start. I hope they are aware of this, otherwise very customer-unfriendly situation. Please tell them if you chat again. Thanks.

  6. To clarify my post on booking hotel and park ticket: in booking park tickets, you can book up to 5 tickets on one request for two days. If you are two people and want 3 or four days, you need to make two park ticket bookings, one for two people for the first two days and a second for the next two days. In my situation, I have a party of six. I will have to book 4 times because of my sixth person. I live chat almost every day to keep checking to see if the information changes. I also have asked when hotel pricing will be available. It has been "coming soon" for a long time. It would be nice if we knew the rates prior to the 28th.

Getting nervous reading this. I also need hotel and park tickets for three nights/four days. I really hoped that package would be available to book by the 28th. What should I do? Buy separately? For the tickets: So if I need a four day entry, I have to book twice because only two day tickets are available? Does this means that if booking for two people, I have to book four times a two day ticket?

  8. Shanghai Disney Resort trip planning

I spent some time on Live Chat with the Shanghai Disneyland customer service team. They indicated that packages containing hotel rooms and park tickets will not be available on March 28, but may be in the future. You will have to book hotel reservations separately from park ticket requests. The same restrictions will apply to tickets (5 per request for two days max per person) as we have been told. If you call customer service on March 28th, they can book both hotel and park tickets but they could not confirm when the website to buy tickets will go live. My fear is if I wait until customer service phone line opens at 8am that the park tickets may be sold out. My recommendation is to buy park tickets when you can on the website if you can prior to 8am China local time and then book the hotels. It is going to be interesting to see the demand for tickets and if their systems crash or not. My personal situation is to be there two weeks after opening. I have my fingers crossed that I will be able to secure part tickets for three days for 6 people (meaning I have to book tickets four times). It has been tough getting answers and you have to be very specific in your wording. Good luck to all as we approach the 28th.

Hi, what they have said is correct, because Shanghai Village is not part of Shanghai Disneyland Resort or Disneytown. It's a part of the SITRZ, which encompasses Disney Resort as well as other facilities. We know that the SITRZ is opening in April, the Shanghai Village is opening in May, and the Disney Resort is opening in June.
