Thank you. That's what I am deeply afraid of. It will be Easter Sunday for me and I am spending it at DLR -.- I live in Germany so this is a holiday for me and I had booked obviously a long time before they announced the booking date. Also if they take too long to get it online my family in Germany also cannot help out because Shanghai time will be in the middle of the night for them...argh.

I wouldn't bother setting your watch to any particular time but just keep an eye on their website and keep refreshing the booking pages. I would very much doubt they will set a specific time (or make it public anyway!) because they will not want a huge hit on either phones or websites. There is always a lot of last minute work to be done on getting sales up and running so I would think it might be delayed/not quite right from the start. Also given the general lack of good information anyone has gotten out of the chat representatives be prepared for some painful conversations in which you get directed to the website a lot.

Be prepared for a lot of sitting, refreshing and waiting but it will be worth it.

I would be very, very surprised if it doesn't open to schedule.

Having worked for big attractions businesses in the past it is very common to cut existing park budgets during periods of large investment and growth. With all the work going on all over the world for Disney (including all the works in the US parks) it is not unbelievable to think they are just consolidating whilst spending so much on investment.

I wouldn't necessarily see that as a sign that any work is under threat or that anything has failed. And as for sites not hitting budgets and making losses, that has happened many times with Disney parks around the world and they have always survived. Disney are not only kept afloat by people visiting the parks and their business success does not require the parks to make a profit all of the time.

I would think it is more important to get Shanghai Disneyland open on time than under investing in this late stage. My gut feeling is that additional funding will be found to complete the park on schedule regardless of stress on budgets because it is more important to start getting revenue through the door, any delay in this now would mean a bigger hit in the long run.

INQUISITR are reporting:

"Shanghai Disneyland is currently scheduled to open in June of this year, and it will be the first mainland China Disney resort. Right now, the gigantic park is hoping for that opening, but some financial issues and delays may cause that to be pushed back a bit."

Shanghai Disneyland is behind schedule and over budget, so Disney Parks will be looking to shave some money off their operational budget by cutting labor hours at both the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts.
