I don't see why it's a bad thing. I would believe that if the park had just one admission, the one ticket price would be equivalent to the total of the 3 separate tickets anyway. Splitting it up actually offers visitors the choice to visit just one or 2 of the 3 components.
Marine Life Park is the umbrella name for the entire zone, which is made up of the Adventure Cove Waterpark, S.E.A. Aquarium and the Dolphin experience. Each attraction is likely to be separately gated.
The new name reflects the new direction the attraction is taking. It will not be a standalone water park, but incorporated as part of the larger oceanarium. That's why it looks light on slides, because the main attractions are the marine life displays and swim-with- <insert creature> programs.
