Great picture. Thank you so much for sharing. I had not previously seen the lake on the east side of the highway. It is massive and seems to take up a lot of the possible park land that could otherwise have been used for attractions, rides, hotels, or other. Still looks like a tremendous amount of work to do.

Thank you so much for the update. Sounds like there has been very little progress in the last several months. Worth keeping a close eye on the development. Although it is not theme park related, the other important project underway at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta is the Estates. Construction on this development has been very slow as well recently. Hopefully things will pic up now that it is the offseason in Mexico (although I am not sure that would have really had an impact).

Thank you so much for the update. Was there mention of Cirque's ongoing participation and which phase they may control.

This is a recent rendering of the theme park. It closely aligns with the work being done.
There are so many rumors and speculation. From a sales rep at Vidanta I was told that instead of opening in phases they would open the entire park all at once in 2021.
No one seems to have any firm information.

Michael - might I ask what service you used to get the updated satellite imagery? I don't see recent images for Vallarta on Google. Thanks so much.

I am told that all of the rides and attractions are (were) built offsite and will be transported to Vallarta for assembly. If this is so, that should allow for some relatively quick progress. But, with Vidanta, who knows.

I saw recently that Cirque du Soleil announced a new concept called Creactive, an immersive training/entertainment venue. It will be built in Canada first and then expanded around the world. For many years, Vidanta has been touting a Cirque du Soleil academy that will be built either as part of the theme park in Nuevo Vallarta and/or the Joya show in Riviera Maya. Hopefully, with the opening of the park, we will also get a Creactive academy.

Apparently there was an interview last night, according to a Vidanta tweet and post (Facebook) with Ivan Chavez and Daniel Lamarre on Forotv. Perhaps I am misreading the tweet and the interview will be tonight. If anyone can locate the interview and post a link that would be fantastic. I would imagine there will be some news about the park and collaboration between the two companies.

Can you please provide a source for the claim about Feb. 2019. If so, this would be a significant delay from year end 2018 as Vidanta/CDS would miss the Christmas, New Years high season.
Anyone else hear anything about the next phases of the park? Two more AFTER Cirque du Soleil with separate concepts.

I am told that Vidanta is tripling the size of the overall theme park on their Nuevo Vallarta property. The Cirque theme park remains on track to have phase I (although the Cirque theme park itself will have 2 or 3 phases) and then phase II and III will have a water park. An additional theme park is currently in the earliest stages of development. They said the owner of Vidanta is working directly with the retired head designer from Disney to create this new concept as well as the original founder of Cirque du Soleil and his new entertainment company. Anyone else can confirm this?
