Hi all, I just spoke to Nono at the live chat, and confirmed some things, while other things he told me it has not yet been announced.

    Confirmed:
    * Dining Reservations - you have to call up the reservation center to book them. It's not possible to book online or via the live chat
    * Breakfast at hotels - same situation - you have to call up to book them.
    * Early entry - really sorry but it seems that this is not possible. I asked him about it in the context of the opening day, but he said it's not possible on any day. Proof:

    Not yet known:
    * Whether any hotel facilities will be available before 16th June (e.g. left luggage) ("We will release related operation arrangement later")
    * What time the hotel facilities (e.g. left luggage) will be opening on 16th June ("for the hotel opening hours we still not get informed")
    * Whether there will be Wi-Fi at the turnstiles to access the internet and get the barcode ("We will release related operation arrangement later")
    * How 2-day tickets work in terms of how you get the second portion to re-enter on the second day ("we will release all the related policy you need later")

I think you should be fine as long as you can view the tickets and print them.

    My hotel confirmation email says:

Theme park ticket is not included in the room price, but is guaranteed for hotel guest (according to room occupancy) at Shanghai Disney Resort.
In other words, if the room occupancy is too high, it seems to be saying that the tickets are not guaranteed. I would recommend to everyone to book their park tickets separately if possible.....

Yes, as I think I mentioned before....I received an email confirmation for both park tickets and hotel reservations immediately after booking them. I made 4 orders in total (2 park tickets for different days, and 2 hotel reservations), and for each order I got the confirmation email immediately after booking. I gave the email addresses those originated from in my earlier post. Not sure why others have not received the confirmation. Maybe the email server was offline at the time you booked, and maybe it only tries to send the email once; I don't know...

For those of us who have eTickets, if you click on the information link at the bottom of the ticket, you will get a page which gives instructions for what to do on arrival in case you have a government ID linked ticket and in case you don't. I'm now convinced that the only reason they provide the option to link your ticket to the government ID is for convenience. In this case, you don't actually have to produce a barcode, just show your government ID and then they will give you the ticket at the turnstiles. Of course that is not applicable for us non-Chinese, but I don't think it disadvantages us in any other way than we have to make sure to have the barcode with us (not sure if there will be WiFi at the turnstiles - will check).

No luck there. I then went on live chat and got my good friend Nomo. I explained my difficulty in booking park tickets and he indicated that since I had a hotel reservation (and had registered), I could not purchase park tickets online in advance of my arrival. He said I had to purchase them at the hotel when I arrived.
Not sure why you have got that behaviour. I was able to book both park tickets and hotel reservations online on the same account. Admittedly I did book the park tickets before the hotel - not sure if that makes a difference.

PS: I also think I spent many hours talking to your friend but he told me his name is NONO not NOMO. Actually it seems there are only about 4 English-speaking staff on the live chat service.

I do not have my name on my tickets either. This is quite strange to me as some websites such as http://shanghaiist.com/2016/03/29/disneyland_ticket_scalpers.php are wondering how ticket touts are able to sell tickets, but to me it seems quite easy to do.

There is an option during checkout "I would also like the eTickets added to a Government ID." I simply did not select this option. I think from the wording of it, it's quite clear that it's optional, and you can submit the form without checking that checkbox. Due to this, I was never prompted for any kind of ID or passport number

But i read there is the option to book breakfast additionaly - forgot to ask her how much this would cost, maybe someone here can do on phone or chat. would be interesting to know, but anyway i think i will do breakfast at different locations in park or disneytown. Also i find opening times could be a little longer on weekdays. But i also read that they offer early entry to hotel guests. Maybe also someone could get in touch with them and find out more? ☺
Dining reservations are next on my list of things to try to find information about. There is very limited information at the moment. It is less than 90 days before my arrival date and I have not received any option to book dining reservations. In particular I want to make sure that I don't book The Lion King tickets on the same day as character dining. I really need to chat to the online chat people about it, or I will miss both. I will share any updates I get.

About breakfast, I share your frustrations.

EJ Insight have noticed that Shanghai Disneyland has 15 restrooms on-site and are predicting that this won't be enough to cope with demand. By extrapolating from figures at other resorts they predicted that the figure is just too low (e.g. HKDL is a third of the size and has 12 restrooms, so SDL should have 36 by that measure) and are recalling embarrassing incidents at HKDL around the time of opening involving people unable to find a restroom in time, which they expect will be repeated at SDL. They also note that Disney does seem to have made a special effort to keep the smoking situation under control.

While the opening of ticket sales was catalogued by many of us "as it happened" on here, here are a few official news stories:

Bloomberg reported that the opening day tickets sold out "within hours". In particular the news article was posted just over 14 hours after tickets went on sale. Congratulations to all of us (myself included) who got tickets for the opening day!

Additionally, the same article reports that by noon on Monday (not sure what time zone that is, but certainly within 24 hours of booking opening), *both* of the hotels were fully booked for the first *two weeks* after opening! Once again, congratulations to all of us who booked those rooms!

    Source: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-03-28/shanghai-disneyland-opening-day-tickets-sold-out-online-in-hours

Shanghaiist are reporting that the first 3 days of park tickets are now totally sold out. However, the same article says that opening day tickets sold out within 5 minutes, which is clearly wrong, so I'm not sure how much to trust the rest of the article.

It also says that tickets for those days are being sold online by touts for as much as 3400RMB.

    Source: http://shanghaiist.com/2016/03/29/disneyland_ticket_scalpers.php

AsiaOne reports that the Shanghai Disney Resort website crashed 5 minutes after ticket sales opening and that it had 5 million clicks within the first 30 minutes. And Alitrip had 20,000 ticket sales within the first 30 minutes.

There everything is displayed correctly, but that is missing if i log into my account and want to view the same on laptop in internet explorer...-i think they just have to update their website/system. For hotel reservation i received an email just after i completed booking, but for the ticket i still did not get a confirmation email. Maybe also due to system problem. So it is the same situation with you???
Hi Marco, I also booked my hotel from my smartphone, but the hotel ticket shows up on both the mobile site and the desktop site. I did book my park tickets through the desktop site though - not sure if that makes a difference.

Have you tried logging in and then going to https://www.shanghaidisneyresort.com/en/my-tickets/retrieve/ and entering your confirmation number?

Sorry to say, I did get confirmations as soon as I booked. The park ticket confirmation comes from [email protected] and the hotel confirmation comes from [email protected] Apart from that, all I can suggest is try talking to the people on the live chat...

Yes, I managed to book the tickets now from 16-19 June! Seems the pop-up problem is fixed. However, I still can't see availability for Shanghai Disneyland Hotel for anything before 21st June. Which makes me fear that unfortunately it is fully booked already before then. Anyway, the park tickets for the opening day and subsequent days were my main goal! About SDH, I will have to wait until the online chat people come online to get an accurate picture. It seems really unfair if it was fully booked by people with Chinese National ID cards while the pop-up problem made it impossible for Western users to make bookings.

Which payment method did you use? Like other posters, with hotels I was able to get to the screen where the "Pay Now" button appears, but not actually make the payment.

Now something different is happening.....I can get to the page where I select theme park tickets, and they are not all showing as sold out any more. Furthermore, the page is actually in English rather than Chinese! But then when I try to select one, and press "Check out", it redirects to a blank page.

Yes, I think we realised that before, but I suppose we are concerned about whether Chinese people are able to make their bookings through Alitrip, which we can't because of the lack of a Chinese National ID number.

One other point - even when trying to book park tickets through Alitrip, it lets you select dates (because that comes before the part where you have to enter your national ID number) and you can't select the opening day (16th June), it only lets you select from 17th onwards. So that makes me think maybe 16th is already sold out.

Now it seems the official hotel website doesn't let you book dates before 20th June. Before, it was letting me book right from 16th, but I was not able to pay (same issue as other users experienced), and after multiple attempts, it timed out

But it expires after 30 minutes, so even those of us who are lucky enough to get to the payment screen, if we don't pay within 30 minutes (because the popup doesn't appear - my popup blocker is also disabled and I'm facing the same problem) it just cancels the order.

Tried to just enter my passport number for the National ID Card number field, but I got an error "亲, 请检查身份证号码" which seems to mean "please check the National ID card number". So I can't continue from that point!! What a waste of effort!!
