I don't think it's taking too long now that they've really got going following the pause during the pandemic. I'm really looking forward to the expansion opening, but I think we're still 18 months or so away. Tron took 7 years to build! That was a long time...

Does anyone know of an opening date for this park? Seems to have gone incredibly quiet online...

Fantastic new pictures of the expansion of Disney Studios!

So a few things I can see which is exciting:

    - You can finally see the track layout developing within the Frozen ride building! If this is the same layout as Frozen Ever After in Disney World then the front part of the track is the load/unload section, and the winding part at the back (covered in green is just before the lift hill.
    - There are a load of posts in the middle of the ride building. Could they be the support towers for the mountain?
    - The shape of the main lake looks fairly complete, with concrete now covering the black lining previously seen.
    - You can see exactly where the path would be taking you from Production Courtyard/Hollywood blvd to the new expansion.
    - Ground-shaping (before concrete pour) has started where the Rapunzel flat ride will be.
    - Ground-shaping (before concrete pour) has started where the lakeside/promenade restaurant will be.

Ah, so there's a few things to note on these new pictures of the site:

    - Can we see track near the temporary structures alongside the 'Cars' route? This is most probably for the Frozen ride, however I'm not sure the tech used on the Frozen attraction in Epcot and if it requires actual track.
    - The bridge linking Arendelle with the other side of the lake (leading what will be the new restaurant) looks like a swivelling bridge which will allow boats or flotillas to reach the service area and/or Arendelle from the main lake.

It's been a while since we've seen progress on here, so it's all great to see!

Those two structures standing alone look like the supports for the Frozen bridge...

Dr Who looks like a trackless ride vehicle.

I really hope the team of designers do some field research. If it was a trackless ride vehicle I'd be researching how they created attractions like Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway and Rise of the Resistance at Hollywood Studios. Or, closer to home such as Dreamflight at Efteling. Even something like that would be good.

Top Gear being a water ride... not sure about that one! I hope it doesn't end up being something like Tidal Wave at Thorpe Park, but with some Top Gear signage. I would have thought something like a racing/duelling coaster. Twisted Colossus looks amazing, but maybe a wooden coaster works better with some of the other IP's and lands in the park.

Indiana Jones looking walk. As long as a walk through has been well thought of it could be cool. I love the queue for Indiana Jones at Disneyland California. So many Easter eggs and things to do in the queue. Got to ride it first earlier in the year.

Other ideas look OK from the pictures. Some pretty vague though. I'm hoping Mission Impossible will be one of the star attractions. That and The Italian Job (based on the original).

Where is this concept art now then? Where did it come from? Would love to take a look.

Just on the webinar now. Interesting stuff!
