There seems to be some movement at or close to the Paramount site. My local contact wrote a week ago:

There were more trucks taking the turn to the MU-602 (since the new road is here, the MU-602 is very quiet) then usual, the ones we only see when they need to clean out land. And there is not a lot to do there for those trucks at this moment, so it could be related.
    And a few days later:

I checked again: at the site itself nothing is going on at this moment, they are cleaning out an area nearby and that could be the truck depot area for the construction trucks.

    Airport delay

“We want to do things well”, he said “and with all the guarantees so we are not going to do this in a hurry. “
In recent years the Murcia Government has been under immense pressure to do something in the region with regard to the stimulation of the economy and employment and until the announcements of the new International Airport and the Paramount Theme Park the economy in this particular part of the Province was suffering from severe depression.
However the promise of the two new developments went a long way toward soothing the voices of protest. This recent announcement will once again lead to raised voices of criticism if the summer tourism season fails to live up to expectations.

    Seriously that's it??

Entrance gate that looks like Universal Studios?
    Universal copycat studio street?
Rango's West Land looking like a mixture of Disney's Frontierland and PortAventura's Wild West section?
Woodlands Fantasy Land that doesn't only look like but also sound like Disney's Fantasyland?
Plaza Futura Land that basically IS Disney's Tomorrowland, complete with Star Tours copy?

Anyone creative out there? Scared of risks? Better serve fast food than fresh fruits because someone might complain? Come on Paramount, you can do better! Surprise us!

  8. Definitive Project and first stone

This is how's going to be build:

First stone to be placed this March

  9. Massive impact, this is my guess. This is going to be the world's first Paramount movie theme park, I think it will even draw visitors from America and Asia. There's nothing much in Murcia and Alhama, nothing that would lure someone to fly in from New York, Moscow or Beijing. Paramount will change everything.

Lucky those who own property in the immediate vicinity. On the other hand, there's still a chance of construction being stalled in the middle, after all this is Spain.

  10. Point of no return is almost reached. They need the investors to come out of the woodwork though. What impact will this have on the property markets and general economic development in Murcia ?
