Alton Towers Resort, the UK's biggest theme park, could be revealing the first VR rollercoaster in a few days.

With Merlin bosses hoping to rekindle interest in Alton Towers after a poor summer, the UK theme park has revealed a teaser for “Something Exciting!”, rumoured to be the addition of virtual reality to its Air rollercoaster.

The £12m (US$17.7m, €16.2m) Air rollercoaster, designed by Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M), first opened in March 2002. The ride was the first flying rollercoaster and at the time of opening was one of the most expensive rollercoasters ever made and among the most technologically-advanced.

They also recently announced a new Rollercoaster Restaurant (another first for the UK market) and look like they are going all out in 2016 to make up for the terrible trading year in 2015. https://www.altontowers.com/activities/places-to-eat/rollercoaster-restaurant/#surf-restaurant

@Dubaidave, it was about time Wonderland closed for good. Do you live in Dubai? Can you take more pics from IMG, Dubai Parks & Resorts and Warner Brothers World in Abu Dhabi?

Wonderland has been closed for a while now. I was told they would reopen, however the space shot has now been removed so it's not looking good.

BREAKING: once Shanghai Disneyland is open, Disney will announce and immediately commence work on the long-awaited 2nd gate at Hong Kong Disney Resort.
