"Nintendo signs theme park deal with Universal Studios"

The Mario maker has signed a deal with Universal to feature Mario, Luigi and co. in "immersive experiences" - presumably rides, shows and other attractions.

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi’s unveils new rollercoaster

“There are very few theme parks that have undertaken such a significant expansion as Ferrari World Abu Dhabi. Its [Flying Aces] design and storyline are deeply rooted in the rich history of Ferrari,” said Jesse Vargas (below), general manager of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.

Although Ferrari World already houses the world’s fastest roller coaster, its newest addition is a faster, as well as steeper, steel version.

It features a 51 degree inclined hill and a 52 metre loop, making it the world’s tallest.

I don't think this is Universal Studios Zhuhai, but a new theme park by Time Warner and Dreamworks in Zhuhai is now in construction.

Construction has started on a theme park in Zhuhai in Guangdong province, funded by a US$32 billion joint investment from Time Warner and DreamWorks Studios, reports the website of Shanghai-based China Business News.

Shanghai Disneyland will not be alone.
A new water theme park is under construction in Shanghai's Pudong area, 25 minutes from Shanghai Disney Resort. It is 190,000 square meters with a planned investment of 3B Yuan (482.74M USD). It is scheduled to open on 2017.

The park, located near Dishui Lake, Shanghai's biggest artificial lake, will feature various marine animal species and is expected to receive over 6 million visitors per year after completion

Is Disney Hollywood Studios creating a new entrance?

This dirt road on the satellite image is the first sign that Disney's started work to connect the Studios parking lot with Victory Way. Whether this is the start of construction on the actual new public access road to the parking lot, or simply a construction or maintenance support road for the project, remains to be seen.

New theme park to be built near military bases in Okinawa, Japan

New theme park won't include Universal Studios rides and attractions.
The Okinawa park is part of an overall surge in theme park construction in Asia.
As part of a surge in theme park construction in Asia, the operators of Universal Studios Japan are planning to building a new theme park in Japan, possibly near U.S. military bases on the island of Okinawa.

The news of a new theme park comes only a few months after Osaka-based Universal Studios Japan launched its hugely popular Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction.

But the new park in Okinawa will not be branded as a Universal Studios park and won't include Universal Studios rides or attractions, according to officials in Orlando.

Universal Studios Japan Chief Executive Glenn Gumpel told reporters in Japan that his company will build a park that will be smaller than its Osaka park and won't be based on themes from movies or television programs. He did not reveal the location on Okinawa of the new park or when it might open.

U.S. theme park developers, including Disney, Six Flags and 20th Century Fox, are well represented in the park-building boom, with plans to build new parks in Asia to take advantage of a growing middle class.

Universal Studios Orlando - King Kong construction update:

It's located between the Jurassic Park and Toon Lagoon islands.
