  3. Plans for Skyplex Orlando seem to be moving forward under a new vision: Lionsgate World Resort

Within Lionsgate World Resort in Orlando would be Lionsgate Entertainment World. The first Lionsgate Entertainment World opened last year on Hengqin Island in China.

Lionsgate’s Next Generation Vertical Theme Park on Best Site in Orlando: Skyplex Ownership Company, LLC (the “Company”) is developing Lionsgate World Resort (“LWR”), which will feature Lionsgate Entertainment World Orlando (“LEWO”), becoming the first US destination and theme park featuring high thrill and innovative attractions immersing guests in the worlds of Lionsgate’s incomparable and beloved film franchises. Construction of the project is expected to commence in Q1 2021 and the park is expected to open Q3 2024.

Record Breaking Thrill Rides: LEWO will feature multiple record setting attractions and experiences themed with Lionsgate’s powerhouse film and television properties including: the world’s tallest rollercoaster – topping 500 feet, the world’s tallest drop ride, a tethered edge walk, and a controlled descent jump all at an astonishing 530 feet in the sky.

Skyplex holds the exclusive rights to the tower coaster concept so that it cannot be duplicated in Florida.
LIONSGATE ENTERTAINMENT WORLD ORLANDO | The studio’s first domestic theme park, spanning over 4.5 acres and featuring the world’s tallest rollercoaster and drop tower, state-of the-art rides, attractions, VR experiences, shows, and themed dining and retail experiences that bring Lionsgate’s most popular film and television properties to life.
Lionsgate Entertainment World will have two main components: a "multi-story indoor immersive theme park showcasing the best in high tech rides and VR experiences" and a "580-foot tall rollercoaster tower"

Guests will be able to purchase tickets just for the indoor park or just the rollercoaster or a combo pass. Prices will range from $44 to $89.

  8. Chessington World of Adventures, UK is having a new drop ride built for the 2021 summer season.

Rising from the newly poured concrete foundation is the steel structure that will surround the drop tower. On the side, a breeze block wall is being formed to enclose the building, with the queue line entrance now visible at the front. Inside the new building, sectioned off rooms have been created which we assume will house the ride computers and operator’s console.
