Site still says "opening December" without a specific date.
They did hold a preview day last month...

Attended by the Menteri Besar of Perak Darul Ridzuan, YAB Dato’ Seri DiRaja Dr. Zambry Abd. Kadir, head of state government agencies, MAPS board of directors and key stakeholders, the team behind Asia’s first animation theme park showcased a glimpse of the exciting line-ups of MAPS shows and entertainment prior to its targeted opening in December this year.

“The exclusive preview was put together specially for all our honourable stakeholders, in appreciation for their unwavering support towards MAPS since its inception,” said Encik Jamal Mohd Aris, Managing Director of MAPS.

This is in response to a customer enquiry on Facebook.

The target opening date is revised due to major park enhancement and addition of new attractions to increase the overall entertainment experience. The ticket bought during Matta Fair will be valid upon opening of the park on December 2016.

Tickets are now on sale.

No specific dates for opening as yet but the T&Cs for their recently released online tickets show that they are not going to be valid on specific dates around the time they expect to open so perhaps those are for soft opening or opening events.
