So not the most exciting of news but it did make me wonder... Where are they putting all these plants? A 2M sqf Nursery is going to be some footprint even on a site that big.

The developer has acquired 15,860 trees, 6,100 palms and over 1.4-M shrubs and ground covers to landscape the project

Clearly its going to have a huge impact and make the current landscape look much more like it does in the lush green concept art.

The project will also have a nursery that stretches over 2.M sqf and will have the capacity to house over 15,000 trees and palms and more than 900,000 shrubs and ground covers. The nursery will include 4 greenhouses with a capacity of more than 100,000 pots each.

What do you mean?

The opening of DPR will spell catastrophe for the parks itself and for the industry as a whole. No serious feasibility study could have come to the conclusion that these parks will be sustainable.

This scale model of Dubai Parks & Resort looks amazing and really gives a flavour of what the finished park will feel like. A great video, I wish all parks would produce these types of videos as it's so much easier to get a feel for the attraction and how everything will be laid out.

So it looks like October has been revised down to September 1st.

Paul La France, chief project officer, Dubai Parks and Resorts, said: "Our MEP work has fallen a bit behind [deadline] projections for the end of this year.
"We start to turn over pieces of the park next January - February timeframe and there's a sequence of handover through 2016 culminating in a soft opening on September 1, 2016."

DPR have also been doing some major recruitment drives this past week for actors, entertainers etc which gives me confidence that October 2016 will be hit. Entertainers are a big overhead to have on the payroll this early in the project especially if you think you might not hit your opening schedule.

They have been advertising over their own page, Twitter, facebook and pushing this with PR.

However http://careers.dubaiparksandresorts.com/vacancies/ shows that as yet they are still recruiting for most of their HR & Recruitment managers/directors etc so part of me wonders if this is just keeping up the PR activity for the time being.
