As a worker there, I can confirm that the rides are well underway to be finished. However, the park is indefinitely closed; we've been laid off with no news on or possibility to renew our contracts.

As the rides are already stored on site, yes they will probably go on with the plans although they may not be in a hurry as Expo 2020 will be delayed one year.

Legoland hotel opening has also been pushed back from June to November.

Do we still think they will go ahead with the expansion in the current situation?

The latest Emirates World podcast features an interview from Marketing representatives at Motiongate, Bollywood and Legoland.

The spokeperson for Motiongate confirms that Lionsgate will be expanded this year.

From yesterday's official press release:

Twelve rides will be added to two of our parks, including three world record rides, before the end of the year. The opening of the 250 room LEGOLAND Hotel in FY 2020 will complete our destination and increase the available on-site hotel room inventory to over 1,300 keys. The introduction of further hotel rooms to the destination will be a key driver of growth in international visitation facilitating the bundling of our theme park tickets with hotel stays and ultimately increasing length of stay, visitation and dwell times.

- Including 3 world record rides
- A hint to further hotel expansion after Legoland Hotel

The company continues to work on its ride enhancement plan which will allocate a select portfolio of 10-12 rides purchased for the previously planned Six Flags Dubai park, to MOTIONGATE Dubai and Bollywood Parks Dubai to increase dwell time and drive repeat visitation.

We are on track with the enhancement works at MOTIONGATE Dubai and Bollywood Parks Dubai, which are expected to be completed in H1 2020. The enhancements will benefit our visitors by offering a broader choice of entertainment and thrill rides and are expected to increase dwell times and drive repeat visitation.

Any news about the enhancement plan? The Expo 2020 is going to open in just 9 months, they need to open the rides before that opening...

Did the works start? Any pictures?

Some sources have suggested that the theme for the new rides won't include Saw. However, it's being rumored that the theming will be after John Wick and Now You See Me; both Lionstgate franchises. So it makes sense.

Indeed, the shareholders have approved yesterday the enhancement plan. They will add 10-12 attractions including world-record thrill rides into Motiongate and Bollywood Parks. This will take 1 year once the construction starts. 8 remaining rides from Six Flags will be stored for future resort enhancements.
