Transport for London (TfL), Network Rail and numerous local authorities have warned that transport infrastructure in London and Kent could be overwhelmed if the proposed £3.5bn London Resort Theme Park is given the go-ahead.

In written submissions to The Planning Inspectorate, the park’s developer London Resort Company Holdings (LRCH) is urged to carry out further transport impact assessments with warnings that the Elizabeth line, High Speed 1 rail line and key roads such as the Dartford Crossing could be severely impacted.

There are also concerns about the proposed development which uses land safeguarded for the potential Crossrail extension to Ebbsfleet.
In its submission to The Planning Inspectorate, TfL is critical of LRCH for failing to consult them on transport impacts before submitting its application and accuses the developer of failing to carry out “appropriate [transport] modelling”.

“For both road and rail impact, TfL has concerns over the resilience of the networks,” TfL’s submissions states

“An incident on the Dartford Crossings or delays on the HS1 rail lines, for example, could lead to a significantly different pattern of demand. Since such incidents are relatively common, especially on the Crossings, it is reasonable for those effects to be considered.”

TfL submission is critical of LRCH for using a spreadsheet to carry out its road and rail modelling.

It adds: “The failure to use appropriate modelling tools means that impacts on the rail and underground network have not been assessed with any degree of certainty.

Avengers campus is still scheduled to open in 2021.
Rock 'n' Rollercoaster is just having a re-theme which will also include a new pre-show and the ride vehicles will be rethemed.

Frozen land will most likely open in 2023 to early 2024. The resort will be celebrating its 30th anniversary (details will most likely be announced on April 12th in the resorts 29th anniversary online celebration).

The resort released new concept art, showing two drop towers (fire and ice) which stand at 13 metres tall and information about the highly anticipated flying theatre. This ride will take you under the wings of Maximum, the sky lion and you will meet mythical beasts such as the two headed hydra etc.

I think that there won’t be a Disney Sea style park as WDS is getting a lagoon, I can see a some new concepts such as a hybrid park with multiple attractions from the American Disney parks. Whatever they do, it must be respectful to France as that is something they are commonly criticised for!

There is a proposal that 2000 construction workers could live on cruise ships on the opposite of the River Thames.

London Resort bosses are considering plans to hire two vessels, which would be docked in the River Thames at Tilbury in Essex, to accommodate workers during the six-year build of the £2.5bn park on the Swanscombe Peninsula.
It is proposed accommodation would be provided at market rates and would help "mitigate negative impacts on the local constrained accommodation market".

Workers would then be ferried between the ships across the Thames to the construction site before and after shifts. But while it would provide "huge relief", resort bosses concede the "potentially unsightly nature" of the ships which would also reduce the knock-on local economic benefits due to "activity being contained on board".

In Manchester, England a new attraction will be open named - "I'm a celebrity jungle challenge!"

It will be based upon the popular franchise and will be ready to open in 2021 (if all goes well with covid-19).

Expect to find an exciting mix of tasks and trials based around the iconic Main Camp, Croc Creek and Snake Rock in the ultimate jungle encounter. Enjoy the action packed challenge through jungle ziplines, tree top ropes course and vertical climbing walls. It's the perfect day out for all the family!
Campmates will venture into the specially created jungle where you’ll need to navigate a series of obstacles and challenges. Face your fears, test your nerve and agility, collecting as many stars as you can for your chance to be crowned “King” or “Queen” of the jungle!

There is a patent Disney filed called, "portable peppers ghost effect". I immediately thought that this technology will be used in spider man web slingers.

The ride vehicle has a screen in front so the peppers ghost effect would be used to simulate the webs you are shooting.

The vehicle may be any one of a car, a bus, a train, an airplane, a boat, or the like in which a passenger is afforded a window to look outside the vehicle. An Augmented Reality Enterainment System (ARES) is provided to the passenger as a viewer, to augment the scene visible outside of the window. The ARES employs a projector and a reflector to display imaged to the viewer overlaid over the visible scene on the window.

I agree LRCH are being very quiet about the park.
I believe this is for two reasons:
They are still in deals with BBC, ITV, Paramount, and as some people think, Universal.
Or the plan was to never build a park and to just build up some hype so the public accepts it, then ditch the park and become a leisure facility!

Hopefully we can get some vague details about the actual rides soon.

Finally! We have some news on the water park! I think it’s interesting how they will link the pools together although I think they are just going modern with no specific theme, shame we heard nothing about the actual park but I guess that isn’t the most important infrastructure!

The Distinguished Jumping Spider has nearly stopped the resort in its tracks! Many news articles are reporting that the land that LRCH will be using might turn into a land of specific scientific interest! This means that The London Resort could be gone.

The company that have proposed this project include the phrase ”with the first flying theatre in the UK” this is very misleading, I thought LEGOLAND Windsor was getting the first one?

Does anyone know why big companies like Universal and Disney are moving into the Chinese market recently (HKDL, SHDL and now USB)?
