  3. CNN Go reported, "Officials say Marine Life Park will have more than 100,000 marine animals of over 800 species in more than 60 million liters of water."

Marine Life Park is part of a $7 billion resort that opened in 2010 , joining Universal Studios, a casino, the Maritime Experiential Museum and several luxury hotels and restaurants helmed by celebrity chefs," said CNN Go.

The different spcies would include hammerhead sharks, indo-pacific bottle nose dolphins and manta rays, CNN Go reports.

"We hold the belief that zoological organizations have a role to play in wildlife conservation and that to avert species crises, controlled wildlife collections can occur for quality zoological facilities to increase our understanding of the species and for breeding purposes," the resort said to CNN Go in response to criticism of having the rare bottle nose dolphins at the oceanarium.

At the park there will be an Adventure Cove Waterpark and the Southeast Asia Aquarium.

"Marvel at more than 800 species of marine animals from magnificent sharks to rarely sighted fish through our planet's largest window to the ocean. Then, plunge into wet and wild fun at Adventure Cove Waterpark, a tropical paradise with an escapade for everyone. Zip down adrenaline-packed waterslides; take an epic journey along Adventure River, snorkel with 20,000 colourful reef fish and feel the magic of wading and interacting with dozens of rays," says the parks website.

Adventure Cove Waterpark will be home to a hydromagnetic coaster which is the first in Asia, the Riptide Rocket. At Rainbow Reef people can snorkel with fish and at the S.E.A Aquarium visitors can see the world's largest aquarium.

I went to the resort yesterday and the park looks fantastic. The BluWater Bay (wave pool) has been completely repaired. Some repainting works are being done for pool shades' support pillars. The only major work appears to be the replacement of the Aquarium building's roof.

ALMOST three years since its soft launch in January 2010, Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) will open the last of its facilities by December 7, a day which will also mark the grand opening of the integrated resort.

The Marine Life Park, which is now getting its finishing touches, will house more than 100,000 marine animals of over 800 species and offer two ticketed attractions – Adventure Cove Waterpark and the Southeast Asia Aquarium.
