7 billion USD for the Marine Life Park only? That must be a mistake. It's probably the price tag for the whole resort. Anyone can clarify the cost of MLP?

The world’s largest oceanarium will open in Singapore in December this year, reported the Straits Times daily Monday.

The $7-billion Marine Life Park (MLP) is the last of the attractions to open at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS). RWS, located on Singapore’s Sentosa island, opened its doors in January 2010 and is home to various lifestyle amenities, including a Universal Studios theme park and a casino.

SINGAPORE - Resorts World Sentosa is set for a grand opening on Dec 7, as it puts the finishing touches on its second anchor attraction - the Marine Life Park.

But don't expect the 25 dolphins - caught in waters off the Solomon Islands, near Papua New Guinea - which have been a point of contention for animal-rights activists, to be there then.

Resorts World said at a media briefing yesterday that the arrival dates of the Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins have not been firmed up yet. The mammals are being held in Subic Bay in the Philippines.

The dolphins are to be part of a series of immersive programmes beginning next year, to be held at the park's Adventure Cove Waterpark.

PS. Apologies for the mix-up in the previous post with regards to MLP opening date and RWS grand opening. The resort has announced that MLP will be open in time for the December school holidays here (which starts from 17 November). Thus, a mid/late-November opening for MLP is possible.

The integrated resort also announced that its second anchor attraction - the Marine Life Park - will open days ahead of RWS' official opening on December 7.

The exact date of the park's opening was not given to the media.

The Marine Life Park will be the world's largest oceanarium and will house more than 100,000 marine animals.

The park will have of two ticketed attractions. Guests will have the option of getting wet in the Adventure Cove Waterpark, or staying dry and watching marine animals such as manta rays and hammerhead sharks in the Southeast Asia Aquarium.

Attractions featured at the waterpark include a wave pool with 16 configurations of waves, and a Rainbow Reef where guests can snorkel with fish. RWS will announce the park's opening dates and ticketing prices closer to its opening.

As for Marine Life Park's opening date, I've been hearing that it's in December. But who knows, the park might soft-open some sections earlier.
