Legoland Sichuan was illegally approved for land acquisition and use because the Renshou County government did not follow the proper laws and regulations, so this could cause further delays for the park.

Not much happening on-site:

This week a cooperation signing ceremony was held between Sichuan Tourism Investment Group, China National Chemical Engineering & Construction Corporation Seven, and Global Zhongjun Cultural Tourism Development Co. for the development of Legoland Sichuan, so hopefully construction will ramp up soon.

Work is moving quickly on the retail and dining area (likely named Lego Square) but nothing is happening at the theme park or waterpark to the point of weeds growing all over the cleared site. Unsurprisingly the opening target has been pushed back to 2025.
