LEGOLAND New York now allows you to download the park map, doesn't have much detail on it as yet but shows the basic layout of the lands etc.

Edit: It looks like the photos in this post were from another site, LEGOLAND Japan, but were marked as LEGOLAND New York images on the article so have been removed.

    Original Message:

Found these images and the captions say "artists impression" but it looks like an actual photo to me.

Given that the site was meant to open in July 2020 I would think we would have seen a lot more from construction by now. I am not sure the site would have been ready for July even without Coronavirus without some serious work in the last months. I am not seeing the amount of work I would expect for the last 6 months of a park getting ready to open.

Anyone else find any photos that make the park look anything like ready?

    BREAKING:

In adherence to the evolving restrictions and guidance of the CDC and state and local governments in response to the coronavirus pandemic, we are delaying the opening of LEGOLAND® New York Resort until 2021.

This move is consistent with the closure of venues and postponement of events worldwide. In this unprecedented and challenging time, nothing is more important to us than the health, safety and security of our guests.

Despite the governor’s call for businesses to scale back the number of employees at their worksites, construction is moving full steam ahead at the site of the Legoland amusement park in the Town of Goshen.

The facility is slated for a July 4 opening.

“The health and safety of our team is always our top priority and we will take all necessary precautions to ensure their continued welfare,” said Julie Estrada, head of public relations North America for Merlin Entertainments. “We have implemented enhanced cleaning regimens in all our office spaces and on our construction site and will follow recommended practices and government recommended guidelines as appropriate to maintain a safe environment.”

Estrada said their public safety team is “alert to signs of coronavirus symptoms and we continue to stress to our employees the importance of good hygiene.”

She said they are “following the guidance of state, county, and local authorities, and like many businesses, we continue to monitor the situation closely so we may respond quickly to any developments.”

Local unrest continues to cause minor problems for LEGOLAND as residents try to block them on seemingly trivial elements of the project.

The company is seeking the name change to create another landmark to help guests find the $500 million future theme park, due July 4, Legoland Community Relations Coordinator Hayley Coriaty told municipal leaders in a January 9 email.

Plus, Legoland Boulevard would 'serve as a concise location for emergency services to quickly and efficiently locate any affected parties,' wrote Coriaty, adding that Legoalnd's California and Florida properties have Legoland in their roads' names.

The proposal has angered residents, with some upset at what they call corporate insensitivity to a storied family with deep regional roots and a long list of local contributions.

Legoland New York will be the largest of the eight Legoland in the world when it opens in July about 60 miles north of New York City.

The Goshen Town Board is scheduled to vote on whether to symbolically endorse the name change at its Jan. 23 meeting, after tabling a measure that Supervisor Doug Bloomfield proposed on Jan. 9.
