LEGOLAND Water Park - Coming Soon! credit to cheekiemonkies
The next phase in the LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort project will see splashing fun being added in the form of the LEGOLAND Water Park. Billed as the LARGEST LEGOLAND Water Park in the world, the interactive and fully LEGO-themed Water Park will offer more than 20 unique slides, as well as over 70 LEGO models among its many attractions and is specially catered to 2-12 year old children.
And speaking about attractions, just take a look at the number of water rides and attractions in store.
Some of the Water Park's highlights include the hugely popular Build-A-Raft River and Joker Soaker.
The Build-A-Raft River allows kids to customize their own raft with soft LEGO bricks before floating down a lazy river - I can already foresee this being a huge hit with the monkies. The Joker Soaker is a fun interactive platform in the wade poll where kids can play with water cannons as a LEGO jester model 'tells' jokes while 350 gallons of water cascade down on them.
The LEGO Slide Racers allow up to SIX people to race down a slide and see who earns the bragging rights at the bottom. Given my weight, I should be a shoo-in for first place I reckon.
Another unique feature of the Water Park is that it is the only one of all the LEGOLAND Water Parks in the world to have 2 entrances - one being the main entrance and the other being connected to the existing LEGOLAND Malaysia theme park. What this means is that it can be enjoyed separately or in combination with the Theme Park.
Miniland is all geared up for its new role as gateway to a parallel universe! From tomorrow, feast your eyes on this first-of-its-kind LEGO Death Star model display, measuring 6 metres in height and made from than 750,000 LEGO bricks! With 10,000 special glow-in-the dark tiles used on the LEGO model as well, fans are ensured of a fantastic night view!

Legoland to house world's biggest iconic Star Wars super weapon
NUSAJAYA - Fans of the sci-fi movie series Star Wars will be in for a treat with the world's biggest Death Star model to be displayed at the Legoland Malaysia theme park.
Made from 723,150 pieces of Lego bricks, the 6m tall model will be installed by the end of the next month. The model was designed to resemble the iconic moon-sized space station and super weapon that was first introduced in George Lucas' Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
The theme park's model shop manager Stefan Bentivoglio, who headed a team of eight model builders for the project, said the Lego Miniland Death Star took 200 hours to design and will take another 1,800 hours to build and assemble.
"It was designed by our Legoland California counterparts while the building and the assembling of the sphere is done entirely in Malaysia," he told The Star during an exclusive behind-the-scenes preview of the project here yesterday.
He added that the sphere weighed about a tonne when completed with the installation of 135kg of stainless steel frames.
"The model will even shoot laser beams accompanied with sound effects to make the Death Star come to life from the silver screen.
"Hopefully, the models will be able to convert those who do not know much about Star Wars into fans," Bentivoglio said.
He said that the 90 per cent completed model which is shaped like a sphere is about 2.3m in diameter and would light up at night with the help of about 10,000 glow-in-the dark Lego tiles to stay as true as possible to the one in the movie series.
Four different colours of Lego bricks - white, dark grey, light grey and luminous tiles were used to build the Death Star model and would be completed and displayed to visitors by July 26 for a limited period at the Nusajaya theme park.
After that, it would be dissembled and displayed at other Legoland theme parks in Denmark, Germany, Britain, California and Florida.
"The model will be placed at a dedicated area of the theme park's mini land and there will also be interactive display as well as smaller replicas of popular characters from the movie franchise," he said.
Other models and displays include Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader having a lightsabre duel, an X-wing fighter, the Emperor's throne room, Garbage Masher and Trench Run - all made from Lego.

US Six Flags to invest RM1.5bil in Iskandar theme park
NUSAJAYA: US-based theme park operator Six Flags Entertainment Corp is planning to invest between RM1.2bil and RM1.5bil to set up a theme park in Iskandar Malaysia.
Sources told StarBiz that the theme park, which will be double the size of Legoland Malaysia and the company's first theme park in Asia, would offer more than 40 rides.
According to Wikipedia, Six Flags Entertainment is the world's largest amusement part corporation based on quantity of properties and the fifth most popular in terms of attendance.
The company maintains 19 properties throughout North America consisting of theme parks, thrills parks, water theme parks and family entertainment centres.
Iskandar Invesment Bhd (IIB) president and chief executive officer Datuk Syed Mohamed Syed Ibrahim, who spoke about Iskander Malaysia getting a theme park, which will be third in Iskandar Malaysia, said an announcement would be made by an investor within the next six months on the matter.
The other two theme parks are Legoland Malaysia and Puteri Harbour Family Theme Park.
“The new theme park caters to young adults unlike the existing two parks which are for children,'' he told reporters yesterday after the ground-breaking ceremony of the RM250mil Raffles American School campus on an 18.21ha site at EduCity, offering pre-kindergarten to 12th grade education.
He declined to give more details when asked on the new theme park and its attractions, including whether it would be a water-theme park.
Syed Mohamed said the opening of Legoland Malaysia and Puteri Harbour Theme Park last year had created a new level of confidence among domestic and foreign investors that Iskandar Malaysia was moving in the right direction.
“Different theme parks cater to different segments of visitors and this will be better than just having one park in our development,'' he added.
The US$200mil Legoland Malaysia on a 23ha site, which is a joint venture between Merlin Entertainment Groups and IIB, is the first Legoland park in Asia.
Other Legoland theme parks across the world are situated in Denmark, the UK, Germany and in Florida and California.
