The layout of LEGOLAND® Dubai, part of Dubai Parks and Resorts, was unveiled to thousands of local and international visitors attending ATM 2015 with a unique four metre squared, LEGO®-built model map.

The park also gets a water park (continued from previous post):

Aimed at children ages two to 12, the water park will feature popular water attractions including a half-million gallon wave pool; “build-a-raft river” where guests can design and build their own customised raft; besides an interactive imagination station, which lets children construct bridges, dams and cities and test their designs against the flow of water.

Legoland Dubai will cover a total of three million square feet made from more than 60 million lego bricks. This includes over 40 interactive rides, shows and attractions set in six themed lands – Lego City, Adventure, Lego Kingdom, Lego Create, Lego Factory, and Miniland which will showcases some of the most iconic buildings and landmarks from Dubai and the Middle East – replicated to scale in lego bricks.

Legoland overload:

Destined to form models of the Burj Khalifa and Tokyo Tower, 90 million toy bricks will be used in new Legoland Parks in Dubai, Japan and Korea by 2017, building blocks in British operator Merlin's (MERL.L) expanding empire.

"North America, which is Lego's biggest market, has got the opportunity for us to have three more Legoland Parks," said Merlin boss Nick Varney, whose firm holds the exclusive license to operate the Lego brand from Kirkbi, its major shareholder.

"We also think China has the opportunity to take three to five and we're looking at preliminary sites in both countries."
