There were talks of starting preparing the land for the 2nd gate right after construction would be finalized for Shanghai. However, with the major expansion announced for the first park in the meantime, surely this will be pushed back?! Especially with the difficulties they are having in discussions with the government to finance these expansions.
Does anyone have an idea what the timeline would look like for an hypothetical 2nd gate?
Yes, the second image is January 2017, the top image is November 2016.
I believe so. That's definitely park 2 expansion space.
I just don't think their visitor numbers support it so thought perhaps they were using it for the staging of new rides, building materials etc but it's far too large for that surely.
@CarlySX, is the second picture from January 2017.
They have started clearing the land for the second park. Without announcing it. Interesting.
Okay so I might be completely wrong here but check out the changes to the land to the East of Disneyland on Google maps.
This is a change between the end of 2016 and January 2017.
It's not connected with current hotel development nor with anything else that has been discussed for expansion as far as I can tell. Does anyone know what's going on in that space?
