The Pixar entertainment expansion is actually financed by 40% of the loan the HK govt provided to the resort back then for the construction of the Disney Explorers Lodge. The govt is allowing HKDL to use the loan for the new Pixar expansion, rather than repaying it to the govt.

That means the project might be a little more substantial than just a performance stage, but something a little more permanent.

A Pixar-themed entertainment venue will be built in between World of Frozen and Toy Story Land.
