(12/15/13) According to Variety, Universal Studios Japan has just received a $250 million injection of cash from PAG, a Hong Kong based private investment firm. The cash will help launch the new Harry Potter themed land as well as “recapitalizing the company”.

Official announcement (2012) said it will be same size or bit larger than WWoHP in IOA but I think it will be copy of IOA with no Dragon's Challenge because Dragon's Challenge is a renewal of Dueling Dragons and I think there is no space to build this large roller coaster...

I only see they are building Hogwart's Castle (Forbidden Journey), Hogsmeade and Hippogriff.

There are bit more space (maybe 4ha) left beside construction area, so maybe they will expand HP area after 2014.

Awesome, thank you for posting this, Haru! I wonder whether USJ's Harry Potter will be a 1:1 copy of IOA in Florida, or slightly different. Any ideas?

2nd Universal City Walk Osaka is in under construction now.


It will open in 2015, and Harry Potter will open in summer 2014. Not sure yet, but maybe they will put some Universal Official Store inside this building.

I hope that it will open before september... i have seen pictures of the construction and it's growing fast .... maybe it will be finish for the summer
