Before Six Flags Haiyan opens in what is now said to be 2019, a "Zhejiang Six Flags International Resort Exhibition Center" is going to open in 2017 at or around the location where the actual theme park will be constructed. The exhibition center will feature, virtual reality, augmented reality and 3D experiences to give visitors the feel of being at a Six Flags theme park. Next to the exhibition center will be a 60-meter-high tower that acts as a sign for the exhibition center. Construction on the exhibition center began on August 1, 2016.

    Renderings of the exhibition center:

Google Earth was updated in February but only a very small amount of work has been done on clearing the site.

The only real changes I can see are in this area but luckily these images are a lot clearer than they were before.

  3. Do we already have construction pics?

  4. The original contract is for 2 Six Flags Parks to be built, but the owners have already gone on record in their ambition to built 10 parks in the next 15 years.

  5. Will the Hangzhou/Jiaxing location be the only one in China? Or will we see another Six Flags China groundbreaking ceremony elsewhere in the PRC in a couple of months?

    More news from the groundbreaking:

Hangzhou is located 177 kilometers southwest of Shanghai, and takes less than an hour on inter-city high-speed train to reach from Shanghai.

The first phase of the mixed-use development project will be a new exhibition center that will open this fall and provide visitors an interactive preview of the upcoming offerings.

From the looks of the concept art and the information on the Six Flags site about the location I think it is this piece of land on Google Earth. The shape of the coastline and the building work that is already to the top left of the park looks right and it matches with the (not very precise) location on their website.
