EPCOT has revealed the name of the new Spaceship Earth Lounge: GEO•82. 82 is a reference to the opening year of EPCOT, 1982, while GEO refers to Spaceship Earth being a Geodesic Sphere. It will open later this year, probably in April or May.

The construction walls have come down around World Celebration, and CommuniCore Hall, CommuniCore Plaza, and Mickey & Friends will open to all starting June 10!

I agree - it is so underwhelming. It looks like something from a Six Flags park, where there was free space in the center but too small for a ride, and one of the accounting staff asked if they could handle the landscaping - "Yea, why not?"
After 4 years of deconstruction, Epcot is now possibly the world’s most expensive office park to go to. Bland street furniture, corporate architecture and the removal of a terrific fountain which provided much needed kinetic energy and textural variety.
Now, take a look at Celestial Park being built as Epic Universe's green space. Huge water features, fountains, cascading waterfalls.
Thank goodness Disney Imagineers found a new home to be creative at. Epcot's makeover was developed by third party California based corporate landscape architects. And it shows.
To go with the new World Celebration Gardens, EPCOT also introduced a new nighttime fireworks show called Luminous.
EPCOT’s new World Celebration Gardens opened today. This is exactly what EPCOT needed. A green oasis in the heart of the park.
