I believe in Dubai and in Dubailand. You know it's not important for everybody to kiss in public or to show a lot of skin. Think about families, they have different issues and priorities than that. They want to have a safe, crime-free place to go to, with excellent infrastructure and fantastic new hotels. Dubai has it all, but they don't have any world-class theme parks. I really believe in it and I want to see it happen!

  2. where they could get arrested and/or fined for wearing a pair of shorts or showing off their arms.
...or get arrested for having a boy friend or girl friend, or for showing affection in public, or even for drinking water during the day at a temperature of 45°C (Ramadan). I understand and respect cultural differences, but these rules and regulations - if not amended - will turn out very problematic for the UAE, for all this is legal in Europe, Asia, North & South America, most parts of Africa, Oceania - basically the rest of the world!

Are you referring to the Marvel Adventure Park at City of Arabia? Do you have concrete insider infos backing up what you were posting here? Are you saying the groundbreaking ceremony was a hoax?

  3. The Marvel Adventure Park is not going to happen. It's a ploy by Dubai Holdings to get money from Disney in order to bury the project. Hopefully Disney doesn't fall for this ruse, and the desert will surely remain a desert.

There's no money for these projects, instead Dubai built a hundreds of office parks and residential apartment buildings that stand empty, and there are hundreds more that have been paid for by gullible depositors that will never get built.

Add to that the UAE is preparing to put a dress code into law that would ban shorts and sleeveless t-shirts, even though the temperature for most of the year is boiling hot, means the country is going to kill its own tourist industry. Tourists (except perhaps from the Arabian Gulf) don't travel on holiday to places where they could get arrested and/or fined for wearing a pair of shorts or showing off their arms.

Hello everybody! I am one of these guys playing around with Google Earth all day long. I am also a big fan of this site. I will post interesting aerial observations in this board. I'm preparing one right for Dubailand right now!

    Marvel Adventure Dubai location

Passed by the City of Arabia site today, it looks like always, the same deserted Mall of Arabia pillars, and a few delayed or abandoned residential buildings scattered around the site. No idea where they would be wanting to (or be able to) build and open a huge Marvel indoor park by the end of 2013!?
