The DreamWorks licensing deal fell through and the park is now called 'Dream Island Moscow'.

Construction updates continue on this URL:

  2. If the Moscow park is not a DreamWorks park anymore, I wonder what happened to the St Petersburg and Yekaterinburg DreamWorks projects (also developed by Region's Group). Any info?

Passed through Moscow last month and took some quick pics of the proposed DreamWorks (not DreamPlay) construction site. Very nice city, by the way, getting better every year. My visit four years ago:

Here are some of the latest news about the park:

    - Rides in the park will begin to be built in early 2017
    - Announced Dark Roller Coaster. Rollercoaster theme will be based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It will be 25 meters high, with several inversions. Manufacturer will be Intamin.
    - Also announced "Flying Theatre" (the first in Europe). The film will be based on a journey into the prehistoric world of dinosaurs
    - Other than the entrance of the castle from the outside of the building, there will be another indoor castle in the building. It is the castle of the Snow Queen. It will have a height of 28 meters.
    - The park will combine Dreamworks characters and Russian cartoon characters.

Today I had some free time and I went to the construction of the park to take some photos. The weather was not very good, so the picture quality is bad. But you can still see how quick the process of construction!

But isn't it cold in Russia? Is this going to be indoor too?

Looks like the IP might still be involved. It seems that the Dreamworks project was never in doubt but the fact that Universal and Dreamworks will have competing parks may have put the Moscow park at risk. But now it looks like both are still ongoing.

NBC Universal and DreamWorks Animation are going ahead with their separate theme park projects in Russia.

Following the announcement last month that NBCU will take over DreamWorks Animation, there was an expectation that the two companies' Russian theme park projects could be combined.

However, NBCU has confirmed that it is going ahead with its Moscow project. "The project is still on, but we do not have an update," NBCU's spokesman told The Hollywood Reporter, adding that it "is not connected with any other project."
