So it's possible the firework show will still be there?
Some more interesting points about the new M&M Runaway Railway building...
Looking at a photo of M&M's RR at Disneyland, and spotted some new fireworks racks on the roof (I expected Disney to retire the big firework shows). The building's intrusive height will be disguised with 2D rolling hills, just like Small World and the last building that was here.Source: https://twitter.com/AlexAHistorian/status/1379680857720463366I would also like to note the placement of the firework racks. The previous racks were directly behind the back wall of Toontown, these are located over a hundred feet further from Toontown. There's a possibility this makes it safer for Toontown to remain open during fireworks!
Update on the downtown Disney Resort including preparations being made for theme parks to open, new operations at restaurants, new posters in the esplanade and outside of the old AMC theater, and rides are testing!
Actually it doesn't... It shows the path curving around the back of the Haunted Mansion from the Splash Mountain side (follow the white 'starbursts' of lights that mark the path) which indicates that it would either start at the Slash Mountain exit/Pooh Corner area or would be where splash mountain now sits (and I don't see them removing splash mountain) but the actual start point is not in the concept art.
In this concept art, the pathway to the new area starts between Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion.
The newly announced DisneylandForward plan includes a major expansion of Disneyland Park that would be located on the existing parking lots between Pixar Pals Parking Structure and the Disneyland Hotel. Perhaps the guest pathway in Disneyland that leads to Pooh Corner would continue on to access the expansion area. Another potential is Disneyland completely removing Splash Mountain to make a wider and grander gateway to the expansion. The early layout shown below indicates a potential second entrance to Disneyland Park in the vicinity of the Star Wars Trading Post gift shop in Downtown Disney. Downtown Disney itself could be majorly affected by the planned expansions which leads to the potential of a brand new Downtown Disney area to be built at the existing Toy Story Parking Area down the street...

This is just a selection of photos but I can't find the source for the originals so here is the youtube video instead. Construction update for Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway.
This is not an overlay for the new movie, it is part of the inclusion program to make the Disney rides more up-to-date with currently views on life.
As stated by Chris Beatty at D23.com
We are constantly evaluating ways to enhance attractions and experiences in our parks. We want to make sure everybody has the best time—that guests from all over the world can connect with the stories we share and that how we bring those to life are respectful of the diverse world we live in. And when they get off the attraction, they know that we have done our homework because these are the details that matter.
When you look at the Jungle Cruise, as it is today, there are just a couple of scenes that don’t do that and needed a refresh. But I want to make sure people know we are not changing the whole Jungle Cruise. This is not a re-envisioning of the entire attraction. It’s the Jungle Cruise you know and love, with the skippers still leading the way, and at the same time, we’re addressing the negative depictions of “natives.” So that’s one of the scenes we’re going to go in and change.
I’m excited about the movie, and having Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt be a part of that film. But these adjustments are really focused on enhancing the existing attraction storyline and addressing some areas that needed refreshing along the way. I’m sure the film is fantastic and we’re very excited about it, but integrating the film into our classic Jungle Cruise is not part of this effort. Does that mean that as Imagineers we won’t put Easter eggs in there? We’ll definitely do that. But we are not adding a major storyline or character from that film.![]()
