No expansions on the roadmap for the main Disneyland park.
The Mandalorian coaster rumor has been around for a few months now, with it supposedly being the same ride system as TRON. Or at least, the rumor was a Star Wars land being built behind Discoveryland (sometimes referred to as "Discovery's Edge") with a motorbike coaster.
"Architecture firm "Wildhorn Architecture" has confirmed the upcoming complete refurbishment of Disney Sequoia Lodge: 1000 rooms, 2 restaurants, the shop and pool will be renovated for a total of 45,000m2. No official timeline but it’s expected it’ll start after the Disneyland Hotel reopens" (DLP Report 26.10.23)
Expect today at D23 Expo those following confirmations:
- A new Concept Art for the Disney Village 2.0
-The Disneyland Hotel refurbishment
-A new ride in Parc Disneyland
Update : Apparently this ride would be an A-class roller coaster based on the Disney Villains franchise. Similar in scale and scope to Hagrid's Motorbike Adventure and built as a mini land near Discoveryland.
Did they say if it's for Disneyland Parc or the Walt Disney Studios? 2028 is still quite far away.
Plans still can change until then - look at the third land - Star Wars - of the WDS expansion which was supposed to open in 2025. With still four years before a planned opening in 2028, announcing it at D23 in 2024 would be still way too early to announce it - in my opinion.
A Webinar was recently held with one of the 3 lead imagineers at Disneyland Paris. He stated a NEW ride would open at DLP for 2028 (A ride of significance.) Expected to be first announced at this year's D23. But possibly 2024
@Tioz Thank you so much for supplying all that information, very very interesting! I hope that they can continue to work on DLP and make it an even greater park then it already is. Splash mountain (I love log rides!) would be a very welcome addition in my eyes! Great news about the studio additions too, I look forward to hearing more
