Avengers Campus should open in 2022 for 30 years of Disneyland Paris.
Everyone’s talking about how avengers campus is opening at DCA, but does anyone know when avengers campus will open at WDS? As it looks like they haven’t made much progress compared to the resort in California.
Good overview of the refurbishments underway in the resort during lockdown.
Those are only speculations that have started on the French forum Disney Central Plaza.
There is 0% chance that this is true. Mediocre YouTubers use this forum's posts to release clickbait videos in which they claim that this land will come because they heard it from "reliable sources."
There are a few rumours now crossing each other, lets be very careful with this.
Firstly, Disneyland is rumoured to see how they can make Galaxy's Edge more integrated with hot IP's like Mandalorian. As they currently don't fit in the timeline of the land.
Second, the French Government and Disney have indeed an agreement for additional Parks being build with the land they purchased in the 80's, This has nothing to do with the extension of Walt Disney Studios Park. This extension is just a fix Disney is doing and not with the agreement to build a third park by 2037.
The Lion King Rumour has gone around for the last 10-15 years and never made footfall into the Paris resort, Splash Mountain was rumoured as extension for the back of Frontierland. Plans have been prepared for this, drawings are available on the exact position of it but so far Paris has not gone any further.
Star Wars will come in a form or shape into the parks, with an immersive land as this IP is hot and has been for the last 20/30 years in Disney parks around the globe. So far no permits have been filed for the construction of Star Wars Galaxy's Edge, only for the Frozen expansion, so it will be a waiting game when we can see this coming as the land should open in 2024. Which will give Imagineering enough time to future proof this land with potential new Star Wars IP's integrated.
No reason they can't come up with a new Star Wars ride for Paris though.
If Galaxy’s Edge was built in Paris, Smugglers Run would be difficult since there are many languages spoken and you can’t expect everyone to understand English. So if ROTR won’t be built in Paris, Galaxy’s Edge will neither.
Thanks for translating. I do think talk of Galaxy’s Edge as a flop are a bit premature. I think most were waiting for Rise of the Resistance to be completed before visiting and then COVID hit. Once theme parks are operating normally again I expect attendance to be up in the parks with Galaxy’s Edge.
Rise though clearly has massive problems and I don't expect to see it built anywhere else.
They basically said that since Galaxy’s Edge did not increase the number of guests as they expected in the US parks, and because of the high maintenance cost of the RotR ride, a trusted source told them that they are canceling this project.
Disney have been thinking for a while now about a Lion King land with a ride similar to splash mountain, since the Lion King festival in DLP is so popular, and they are obliged to build something in this location (because of contracts with the French government)
