Tons of details and new renderings have been released for the theme park part of Chimelong Qingyuan Forest Resort:

- Ground breaking took place on December 28, 2016
- The first phase is opening in 2019

The entrance plaza will be the largest in the world, covering 100 hectares




The theme park will feature a landmark 88 meter tall giraffe-themed castle that'll be the tallest building at a theme park in the world




The theme park will have the largest free-flight bird aviary in the world at 5 hectares



The theme park will have four resorts for a total of 3500 rooms with each being themed to a particular animal - giraffe, elephant, rhino, and zebra. Guests of the resorts will have views of the animals in the African Savanna at the theme park

Chimelong Qingyuan Forest Resort will have a large observation wheel that will be located atop a hill.

Chimelong Qingyuan Forest Resort will include a waterpark. Based on translations, the waterpark will feature a "several hundred meter" long slide that goes through the forest, an infinity wave pool, and a large lazy river/river rapid type ride, and some kind of "water show."

I'm getting closer to pinpointing the exact location of this theme park! Twenty four elephants have been imported from Africa to a temporary facility in Qingyuan (the same city in which the theme park is to be located). The photo displayed below shows some of the elephants at this Qingyuan facility.

Now looking north west on Google Maps I see nearby what I BELIEVE to be the location of the actual theme park mainly because of the significant amount of land clearing (and it fits the location described by Chimelong as to where the theme park would be located). Notice the location of that to compared to the newly located elephant facility. Coincidence? I think not…

That looks very promising. I looked along the river but perhaps this artwork is just a fantasy and the park will actually be surrounded by land rather than water?

This might be the location of this theme park. It matches what CarlySX was talking about and I'm seeing a lot of land clearing…

I have not yet been able to identify a distinct location but this is a very approximate location based on the description given in their press release.
I am going to try and find a better location but it's a huge area so anyone who can scout around the yellow pin in google maps is welcome to find it first.

Viewed from the map, Qingyuan Chimelong Forest Resort is located in the northern edge of the Guangzhou metropolitan area and is vertically aligned with Guangzhou Chimelong Tourist Resort and Zhuhai Hengqin Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort located in the south. Connected seamlessly by highways, city transit system as well as high-speed rail system, any two resorts are separated by merely an hour’s travelling time.

This region will be divided into 3 parts for showing different views and features, including forest, lake and plain. And the forest theme park will breed more than 100 species of animals. In addition, a new roller coaster with the latest concept and technology will be included.
