Earlier this week Yin Zhaoju, Secretary of the Qingyuan Municipal Party Committee, visited the project's site for inspection. He reiterated both the importance of this project and the importance of construction restarting as soon as possible.

Yesterday, Su Zhigang, Founder and Chairman of Chimelong Group and Gong Liangqing, President of Chimelong Group, met with Yin Zhaoju, Secretary of the Qingyuan Municipal Party Committee to discuss the acceleration of the project's progress.

The Qingyuan government will "continue to work hard to fully support and promote the planning and construction of the project, speed up the construction of supporting facilities such as rail transit, water supply pipe network, and municipal roads around the project, and actively strive for policy resource support. It is hoped that Chimelong Group will further improve the project planning, accelerate the construction speed, and start operations as soon as possible in accordance with the consensus reached by both parties."

Chimelong Group stated that they are committed to this project long term.

A news article came out today talking about the status of Chimelong Qingyuan

According to the article local residents are excited for the upcoming theme park but progress is slow.

At the main gate of Qingyuan Chimelong, the wide Chimelong Avenue has been completed. The green hills belonging to Qingyuan Chimelong are endless. A few workers are working on the roadside. The maglev train in the distance has not been completed, and no workers are seen. It’s hard to find traces of the Chimelong Station.

Chimelong declined to comment on the article.

There's a lot of information in this article as it's mainly about high housing prices in areas where promises are being made about improved infrastructure before those improvements are made but it also has info about the proposed park. Looks like this article was posted 8th June but I may be wrong as the translation isn't great...

It is reported that the slow construction of Qingyuan Chimelong is closely related to the slow construction of Qingyuan Transportation. Qingyuan originally planned to have a maglev tour line. The line has Chimelong Theme Park Station, which is connected to Yinqing Station of Guangqing City Rail. However, as with the construction of the Guangqing City Rail, the construction cycle of this maglev line has been postponed repeatedly. The dedicated line, which was originally scheduled to open to traffic at the end of 2019, has not yet been clearly opened.

Chimelong's park in Qingyuan is still in development slowly but surely - on April 21 government officials met with Chimelong's founder, Su Zhigang, at what I believe to be a little preview center for the park at the temporary animal holding center. The government committee that was involved in the meeting committed "to ensure the orderly progress of the construction of the Qingyuan Chimelong project."

Construction on the park is basically nonexistent right now and the Qingyuan Maglev rapid transit line that will have a station at the park has been significantly delayed with some parts of the system having been suspended. In a recent article reporting about the lack of progress the Qingyuan government and Chimelong Group were contacted for comment and no response was given...

This project is not completely dead but Chimelong is allocating most if not all of their resources right now to completing Chimelong Marine Science Park in Zhuhai, which is also opening much later than originally intended.

On January 15 Qingyuan government officials met with Su Zhigang, the founder of Chimelong Group, to discuss the progress of the resort which they hope will open "as soon as possible." The park's planning and construction has been accelerated and the plan is now for the first phase to open in 2021 (originally the park was supposed to open this year).
